Hi there! 👋🏼 It feels like the right time to reintroduce myself, especially to all my new followers. Thank you for your continued support!
I’m Dr. Judy Chee (she/her), a registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist, and Sound Therapy Practitioner located in East Vancouver, on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. As a second-generation Chinese-Canadian, born and raised in this city, I am proud to be practicing this cultural medicine of my ancestors since July 2016.
As a woman of color who has encountered various forms of racism, discrimination, and microaggressions, and as someone committed to ongoing decolonization efforts, it’s crucial to me that my clinic space is genuinely safe and inclusive for QTBIPOC individuals and allies.
In mid-February 2024, I opened my own clinic in a two-storey green heritage house at 1721 Grant Street in the vibrant Commercial Drive neighborhood. This neighborhood holds special significance for me as it’s where I grew up and spent my childhood and teenage years. It brings me great joy to be able to serve my community here.
While I assist people with a range of health issues, my passion lies in providing care for mental health support, fertility, pregnancy and post-natal care, period problems, digestive issues, and facial services including facial acupuncture and microneedling.
Outside of the clinic, I cherish my roles as a daughter, sister, aunt, partner, and friend. I love the mountains and enjoy snowboarding and hiking. Though trained as a pianist, I haven’t played in a while, but I aim to practice daily. I also struggle with anxiety and stress, and exploring therapy, acupuncture and massage to regulate my nervous system. I have a weakness for chocolate and sweets and the occasional weekend whisky. I go through phases of regular workouts or none for a while influenced by my mental health. Sharing these personal aspects highlights that healthcare providers face challenges too, and I strive to integrate my personal growth into compassionate care each day.
