Late summer brings a slow turning, a warm golden light, a hint of change, and a call to soften.
To prepare yourself for this transition, The Skin Witch has a ritual for you:

🧖‍♀️ Begin by cleansing with intention. As you wash your face, visualize rinsing away the heat of the season.
🌿 Diffuse with herbs to bring in new energy: use lavender, calendula, and chamomile for calming the skin and the spirit.
🍯 Apply a soothing mask (we love cooling antioxidant gels in the summer) to replenish what has been lost.

🌠 Seek Out Cream or Oil-Based Cleansers: During the cooler months, keep your skin hydrated and nourished with gentle cleansers that won't strip your skin.

🌠 Protect Your Skin's Moisture Barrier: Cold winter weather can reduce sebum production and strip away skin's natural oils. Protect your moisture barrier by avoiding overly exfoliating products and opt for mild, gentle cleansers and serums instead. Use moisturizers rich in ceramides and vitamins to strengthen the barrier.

🌠 Invest In a Humidifier: For those of us in the Pacific North West, Aquarius Season occurs during our winter months. Many of us are turning up our heaters and taking long, hot showers to warm up from the cold. Consider using a humidifier that allows us to add moisture and hydration to the air and thus, our skin. Your skin will thank you!
