has released a casual shoe list that follows the guidelines for shoes recommended py ! For those of you who haven't wanted to walk around in a running shoe, here are some options that let you have a better sense of the ground than most other shoes. And when you sense the ground, you can use it!

The list has always been for running shoes, and that's because there's usually just a single release of a shoe model each year, so maintaining a list is 'less' work (the amount of work these incredible humans put into testing and recommending shoes is huge though, and I'm thankful for them!) The problem with developing a list for the more casual show brands is that the models and varieties change all the time and are hard to keep track of. So the casual shoe list is just brands, but that doesn't mean every shoe made by that brand has the qualities of a good shoe! Always check the shoe itself for the following:
▪️a firm, stable heel that doesn't collapse when you push on it
🔹equal or limited, definitely not more, give on the sole on the outside of the heel compared to the inside
🔸bends in the toe box, not in the entire shoe

to check out the casual shoe list download it from the Hruska clinic website

Your lungs aren't symmetrical, why should your breathwork be? Because of the asymmetries of all the organs, the lungs have a bias. They like to keep the left side open for the heart. They like to compress the right side with a liver and a right shoulder (which gets used more if you're right handed). And that's fine, until you're stuck there, because then every breath will prefer going into the open side and out of the closed side!
So here's some position tweaks to try getting air out of the same place you're putting it in during or

Throw back Thursday! Posture edition!
The first picture is from a decade ago, before existed in my life. Obviously a lot of other stuff (like strength training, hiking, half-marathons and triathlons, slow carb, OMAD etc) went into the time between shots, but the thing that really sticks out to me isn't the muscles. It's the fact that I look taller and less compressed, especially in the neck!
Oh, and the ink! I rarely get to see it myself 😛

Hello! I've had some new followers here so I'd like to re-introduce myself, plus I'm challenging myself to show up more for the next 30 days so you'll be seeing a lot more of me over that time!

My name is Tatham, and I'm passionate about helping people understand patterns their body can get stuck in and how to repattern themselves out of pain and tension to be stronger, more active, and move and feel better. I'm a human movement expert, brain science nerd, a strength trainer, massage therapist, programmer and relentless autodidact. The people I work with tend to be curious about understanding their chronic pain or tension when traditional methods have failed them, or looking to expand their awareness of body patterns and energy management to reach new levels of performance and illumination.

I guide people's physical energy - the way they manage mass, velocity, gravity, pressure, stretch, compression and expansion - to be optimally sensed and empowered, and I love to show people novel ways to use their body's systems that let them drop excess tension, breathe easily and move pain-free. I use a Postural Restoration (PRI) approach and utilise supportive changework modalities like Structural Integration and Neuro Linguistic Programming.

I work 1-on-1 as an RMT (in person) or Online, run workshops, give talks and facilitate group programs for people to learn new ways to rebalance, repattern and resolve their physical, mental and energetic systems.

If you're interested in working with me you can comment below, or book me for a free consultation call/send me an email through my website (link in bio). I look forward to expanding into new possibilities with you!

If we weren't unconsciously thinking about how to stand upright, we'd collapse. How you stand, how you sit, how you walk, talk, chew and swallow and most importantly how you breathe is the result of ongoing ceaseless relentless determined unconscious thought.
What does your posture say about your thoughts? What do your thoughts say about your posture?

A tale of 4 shoes. Or 8 I guess, over a longish personal PRI program.

Each of these shoes has been a daily driver for about 6 months for me (maybe 4 months on the last pair) until the thrift store deities bestowed new approved shoes in my size. I see my wear patterns have less twist in the outside / middle of the soles, which makes me happy.
I especially see the right foot has started to wear in the big toe area a.k.a. the place that *should* push the ground away!

Lefty still needs some attention, unsurprisingly 😁

New additions to the wall of fame!

I've been studying and working towards being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for several years now, being inspired by my time at with and and then bolstered by it being a requirement for certification by .
--
The CSCS cert is known as one of the hardest in the fitness industry to achieve, and I can tell you it deserves that reputation! This is a great certification for me to add to my skillset, given the amount of movement-based therapy that a session with me tends to contain!
--
This certification also opens the door to other ways of offering to clients, so stay tuned as some new offerings are coming up (like online sessions)!
