UBC Yoga Club We are a student-run, affordable yoga club working to create a safe and loving community for people

The UBC Yoga Club's mission is to provide affordable yoga to students and faculty at the University of British Columbia. On the busy campus of UBC, practicing yoga provides a way to calm the mind and body from the daily stresses of student life. Yoga is an incredible practice for supporting holistic health and inner peace - our goal is to share this experience with everyone! The UBC Yoga Club is located on the unceded, traditional, ancestral, and occupied territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (Halkomelem) speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nation.

🧘🏽‍♀️ In support of Pink Shirt Day on Feb 23, UBC Yoga Club is dedicating our karma classes to bringing awareness to the issues of bullying in our workplaces, schools, homes, and online

👚 Pink Shirt Day is a movement that was started by a group of friends in Nova Scotia with the goal to stand against bullying that they witnessed in their school

💸 All drop-in fees from our February Karma classes will go to the CKNW Kids’ Fund, which funds anti-bullying programs in British Columbia and distributes funds to organizations working toward supporting children’s healthy self-esteem

🥳 RETURN TO IN-PERSON CLASSES 🥳

GOOD NEWS YOGIS - as of Monday, February 7th, our yoga classes are returning In-Person 🤩

🧘🏽‍♀️ Classes are now available for reservation via our website - both members and non-members can reserve at anytime! Today is the last day code 2022WARRIOR is eligible for $5 off any term 2 membership, so act fast 💸

🧐 Class locations are in the details section of the class in our schedule. All lunch-time classes are hosted in room 2301 in the Nest, and all evening classes are hosted in Life 26 (basement of life)

💫 Full vaccination is required for entry to class, and masks are optional during the yoga class. All equipment is pre-cleaned and spaced at a social distance. Hand sanitizer is also available upon entry to class. A full outline of our COVID safety protocols is available on our website’s FAQ page, and will also be posted to our social media tomorrow!

🌷UPDATED TIME! UBC ASIA 210 Yoga Traditions presents Vancouver Yoga Series
Join us in this 7 week Yoga Traditions series, featuring local Yoga instructors from different lineages and styles of yoga.

These sessions will be hosted online, Wednesdays 6:15-7pm (starting January 26th).
Sessions will begin with a 40 minute practice, followed by a 20 minute discussion.
Everyone is welcome, no experience or knowledge of Yoga is required.
Donations are appreciated but not required.

GOOD NEWS YOGIS 🥳 We are extending free week for this coming week of Zoom classes!

We are anticipating (and awaiting confirmation) that in-person yoga class activity will resume as lectures also resume in-person on February 7th, so we are making the rest of our classes free to attend in the meantime 🤩

The UBC Yoga Club's mandate is to provide affordable yoga to students and faculty at the University of British Columbia. Yoga has many benefits in and of itself! Specifically on the busy campus of UBC, it provides a way to calm the mind and body from the daily stresses of student life. Yoga is also great for both physical fitness and inner peace. Our goal is to share this experience with everyone! Go, Do, Be. Yoga.
