Since recriminalization, about 231 people died in so called BC from the toxic drug supply. Meanwhile, the Crown has decided to use taxpayer money to pursue bu****it charges against Jeremy Kalicum and Eris Nyx, the co-founders of , whose compassion club pilot showed more promise than anything the province has done to address the toxic drug supply. We’re about 2 months into in so-called BC: an important step towards sensible drug policy, and a testament to decades of work and sacrifice by grassroots activists. Sadly, there remain many significant issues with the BC model of decrim. While there’s no way I could do justice to the complexity of this subject (especially in an IG post), I hope to highlight some important points. Basically everything in these slides is drawn from the wisdom and labour of other folks at organizations like VANDU, and others. I highly recommend tuning into these orgs for more on the , , , , and other related topics. Anyhow, please take care and stay safe! 🔥
