Vancouver Coastal Health Public Health advises customers of both Pizzeria Farina located at 915 Main Street, Vancouver and Farina a Legna located at 119 2nd Street East, North Vancouver to avoid consuming bottled herb and chili infused olive oils purchased from these restaurants. Anyone who has already purchased these products is recommended to discard them or return them to either restaurant. Both products are no longer on sale at these locations.

During a public health inspection, it was identified that the restaurant’s bottled products ‘Pizza Farina Chili Infused Olive Oil’ and ‘Pizzeria Farina Oregano Infused Olive Oil’ were not manufactured using a validated method in line with food safety standards. Once advised of this, the retailer ceased production and sale of both products and has fully cooperated with Public Health.

To date, VCH Public Health has not received any reports of illness associated with the consumption of either product.

As an RN working in IR, you will perform nursing functions associated with interventional radiology, computed tomography, and other medical imaging procedures for patients of all ages who may be critically ill and/or attached to life-support equipment by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Today we are pleased to highlight Bahareh Bouzhmehrani, a Counsellor Case Manager working at the Community Mental Health Team at the HOpe Centre in North Vancouver.

In her role, Bahareh supports mental health and substance use clients within the community. She works within a multidisciplinary team and their work emphasizes the stabilization, recovery and returns to the patients’ previous activities of daily living.

Meet Natalie Chapman, a recreation therapy assistant working in Banfield Pavilion at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). As a new grad, Natalie received several job offers but accepted the one at VGH as her grandmother worked here years ago. “She was quite pleased that the legacy continued in the family,” Natalie tells us.

The contact information listed on your resume will allow the recruiter to reach out and share updates on the job application process. Below are what we consider key elements of the contact section and some considerations you need to make when including them.

✉️ Email will likely be the main form of communication.
Make sure the email address you use is a professional one. If you need more tips, refer to our RTT post on August 30, 2022.

📲 Many recruiters may prefer a phone call.
Phone calls are also a quick and effective way for recruiters to conduct a screening interview. If you haven't already, set up a professional voicemail so you can still get in touch with the appropriate hiring manager if you miss their call.

📍 List your general location.
Whether the job is on-site or remote, your location—city and province/state—will provide important information for the employer. Organizations will need to know where you are located for logistics, such as work hours and taxes. Additionally, if you are applying out-of-province or internationally, you should state if/when you plan to relocate.

🌐 To share LinkedIn profile or not?
The general consensus is to include your LinkedIn within your resume because it can provide a lot more information about your skills and overall professional experience. If you do so, make sure your profile URL is customized to your name. Similar to your email address, you want it to look as concise as possible. Most importantly, make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date.

🌐 Do you have a portfolio?
A portfolio presents your written or visual work and includes a summary of your thought process, skills and more. Select jobs will require a portfolio. When including outbound links, whether it is your LinekdIn profile or portfolio, make sure the URLs are neat: you don't need to display the "https://www" portion. Additionally, make sure all your links work!

VCH is hiring Social Workers with a Master's Degree to join the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) teams.

EPI is a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to treating and supporting adolescents and young adults, ages 13-30, who are experiencing early and first-episode psychosis. Treating psychosis as quickly as possible provides young people with the best opportunity for recovery. The EPI teams will deliver this specialized service in our home community and improve access to care.
