You know that “storage almost full” alert on your phone or computer that you keep ignoring? 😅 And then bam—it crashes just when you need it most! Our bodies are a lot like that, too. When we keep ignoring the signs that our health needs some love, we eventually hit a wall.

As we head into December, it’s the perfect time to check in with yourself and see what areas might need a little extra care. Whether it’s stress, sleep, or simply feeling low on energy, don’t wait for your system to crash before giving it the attention it deserves!

Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you have to accept feeling exhausted, anxious, or out of balance. 💕 If you’ve been told that your PMS, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, or IBS are “just part of being a mom,” let’s change that narrative.

Motherhood comes with its own set of challenges, but your symptoms deserve attention and care. You’re not “just tired” or “just stressed”—there are real, supportive ways to help you feel like yourself again.

You deserve to feel vibrant, strong, and healthy. Ready to dig a little deeper? Let’s explore what’s really going on so you can feel your best!

Let’s talk about one of the ultimate multitaskers: magnesium! This mineral works wonders for sleep quality, supporting a balanced mood, may help with digestion, and even helps calm those restless legs. It is one of my most commonly recommended supplements for busy moms.

Here’s the thing—not all magnesium is the same. There are different forms, each supporting different functions, so it’s worth making sure you’re on the right type and dose for YOUR specific goals. 💖 There are also different dosing strategies (ie: amount, time of day, etc.) to help you individually.

Curious about which magnesium might be right for you? Let's chat!

Let’s talk breastfeeding and periods! If you’re wondering why your cycle hasn’t made a comeback, it’s likely thanks to a hormone called prolactin. 🤱

Prolactin is produced in high amounts while nursing, which helps with milk production but also keeps other hormones (LH and FSH) low. This means your chances of ovulating—and getting your period—are lower.

But here’s the kicker: “lower” doesn’t mean zero! So, while it’s less likely, it’s still possible for your cycle to return while exclusively breastfeeding (and yes, pregnancy is possible, too!). Some women (like me) get a period back as early as 5 weeks postpartum, and others don't see any signs of bleeding until they are completely done breastfeeding - and both are normal!

Postpartum and wondering about your hormones? Book a Meet and Greet and let's chat 💖

Did you know that those extra holiday treats and cocktails can actually make PMS symptoms hit harder? 😬 Every January, I have so many patients feeling like their PMS symptoms have taken a step backward—and part of it often comes down to the extra holiday treats and festive drinks from December! 🎄🍸

If PMS tends to hit you hard, finding a little balance this season can make a big difference. You can enjoy the celebrations and feel good in your body! A bit of mindfulness now can mean a lot less discomfort later, and who doesn’t want that? 💖

Need some tips for staying balanced through the holidays? Struggling with your PMS? You don't have to. I’ve got you covered!

It’s that time of year, folks—the season of no sun! ☁️☔️ Here in Vancouver, we all know these grey days feel endless, and our Vitamin D levels can take a hit. Getting your Vitamin D tested is the best way to determine a safe and effective dose to support your mood, energy, and immune system all winter long.

So, whether you’re feeling a bit low or just want to stay ahead of the game, talk to your GP, NP, or ND about getting your levels checked (and anything else you may be due for). Your future self (and immune system!) will thank you! 🌞

When the kids are sick, let’s be honest—it’s like running a mini clinic at home! 😷 Between the constant nose wiping, endless cuddles, and midnight wake-ups, it’s so easy to forget about taking care of yourself. But taking care of yourself during this time is so important so you can keep caregiving to those snotty kiddos you love so much.

Here are four super simple ways I support myself when the house turns into a germ zone. From sneaking outside for fresh air (yes, even if I have to bundle up the little ones) to prioritizing my sleep and staying on top of my vitamins—it’s all about the little things that keep me going!

What’s your go-to for surviving those sick days? Share your tips below, and let’s make it through together!
