GVCSS is proud to announce Len-Len Cainguitan as the recipient of the 2025 Agent of Change Award! 🏆
As a Total Support Worker at the Transitional Care Centre and The Hub at St. Paul’s Hospital, Len-Len holds a high level of responsibility and must know what to do in an emergency. Her knowledge and course of action in critical situations promotes a safe environment for the team and individuals at the TCC and The Hub. She also displays kindness, empathy and care as she works with vulnerable individuals who access this program. Her nominator remarks, “Len-Len is a woman of strength and character. She makes the world a better place to live.”

For over 20 years he has consistently demonstrated a high-quality of performance, putting the needs of the individuals-served first. Bill’s nominator applauds him for modeling respect and a caring heart. They also commend Bill’s reliability and dependability. “No matter how hard and difficult the work is, he takes it willingly and completes it with high standards. Bill is professional and highly praised by individuals and their families. He is the best employee I’ve had in my 36 years working with GVCSS.”

GVCSS is proud to announce that Gary Singh, Program Supervisor at Steveston home, is the recipient of the Above & Beyond Award for 2025!
Gary was nominated because of his excellent leadership in the Community Living department. His nominator praises his mentorship and approachability. “He is welcoming when we approach him with our concerns. (…) Gary is very compassionate and empathetic when it comes to the care of the individuals. He is a strong advocate for the individual’s rights and makes sure all are always healthy and doing well. He is busy given his role, but he always finds time to check on staff. He motivates staff to achieve goals.” Not only does Gary supervise Steveston home, he is also the GVCSS Crisis Intervention instructor and OH&S Chair for Community Living.

Today GVCSS celebrates the contributions of Laurel (Finance Manager) and Chintan (Home Support Scheduler). Laurel has completed her contract and Chintan will be studying abroad. We thank both of them for their dedication to their role and wish them all the best on their next chapters. 💙🍰💚

Greater Vancouver Community Services Society (GVCSS) is a non-profit society delivering care and services in the community to support the independence and well-being of the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who require support to retain or regain health and autonomy.

With a highly trained and qualified workforce of approximately 800 dedicated staff, GVCSS serves more than 4000 home support clients, and operates six group homes in the Lower Mainland for adults with profound physical and developmental disabilities.
