Marathon #2 — Complete!
What an unforgettable experience at the 2025 BMO Vancouver Marathon with a record-breaking attendance of 25,000 runners!

Each year, alkiss WATER proudly hydrates participants along the racecourse and at the finish line, where each runner earns not just a medal, but also our signature alkiss 500 ml bottle to celebrate the achievement.

I hit the wall hard at 28 km. It got emotional right at that moment where everything feels good, you’re pushing for your best, and then your muscles just crash. Despite all that, I managed to make it to my personal best record!

A quick shoutout to all the runners who set PBs and PRs out there. Fueling and hydration really does make or break a race. Having gels that your body can tolerate and staying well-hydrated are essential.

On behalf of yYoung Wellbeing (the parent healthcare conglomerate company), and the incredible crew, we are humbled to be able to contribute to such a spectacular annual event!

They say up to 60% of the human body is water. If this is accurate, then all of us at the BMO Vancouver Marathon are fortunate to have experienced the taste of alkiss WATER, the world’s top destination mountain spring water. Life starts with alkiss! Product of Canada.

First marathon completed, and I am so grateful it’s been done in my beautiful hometown Vancouver! All of 42.2 km (26.2 miles) was gorgeous living up to its scenic award-winning course as one of the top destination marathons, and now grown into Canada’s largest Marathon race.

The fist pump @ 25 miles felt surreal and taking it home to the finish with our community cheering behind every childhood memorable corner unimaginably raised my adrenaline.

This was my first adventure running over half marathon in 1 GO. My bar of ‘feels good’ habits just got raised.

I wouldn’t be where I am without the help of others. I recognize that when good people come together, we can work together to make a great difference.

This is my second year actively sponsoring the marathon running community and my third ever completed half marathon by distance as a participant. I had never been a long distance runner prior to 2022. Although I have been training less this year, I was able to race my best time to date. Consistent healthy habits pay off.

Dear Friends,
This Holiday season I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with your loved ones. I want to introduce you to someone very special, my Mother Irene. A week ago, I received the only gift I wanted for Christmas which was a clean bill of health for my Mom. Without her, there would be no me, no yYoung. Her strength teaches me how to be resilient in the face of challenges and shake off the babel on my darkest days. She cheers me on in my triumphs.

After battling cancer for the better part of a year my Mom finished her chemo and radiation therapy. She encouraged me to run the BMO Vancouver marathon even while she was in emergency as we had decided to sponsor the BMO Vancouver marathon, the Vancouver Sun Run and many other philanthropic events. I consistently been living a healthy lifestyle for many years but marathons were a new beast I had never wrestled with. I have since gained a profound respect for runners many of whom are part of Team Alkiss and yYoung.

My team supported me through this dark time, trained with me and ran with me I didn't let my team down nor did I not let my Mom down. I was with her first before dawn at emergency before my run, and I want to take this opportunity to thank my two siblings Brother, Sister and the wonderful and overworked medical staff in Richmond Hospital, BC Cancer as well as all health care workers in BC. These past three years urgent and primary care has been tirelessly encumbered with clinical tasks, and you all have my humble respect for life.  The elusive equilibrium between challenges and joy is a part of our everyday life. Regardless of how I felt, knowing that I have my Mother’s unconditional love, I got the job done. By way of discipline and consistency one must finish what one starts regardless of circumstance. Thanks for reading my share. Much love, peace and respect to you all this holiday season!
