If you’re recovering from a concussion, it can feel confusing when symptoms linger or don’t follow a clear pattern. These are some of the most common questions we hear in the clinic during movement-based rehab 👇

1. Should I still be resting?
Short-term rest can help in the first 24–48 hours. After that, many people benefit from a gradual return to light, guided movement based on tolerance. You do not need to wait 10–14 days to be assessed or start supported care if symptoms are ongoing.

2. Why do I feel worse after doing things?
This can be a delayed symptom response, meaning your brain and body are still adjusting to load and activity. It often helps guide how we adjust pacing and intensity.

3. Is it normal that my symptoms come and go?
Yes. Recovery is often not linear. We focus on patterns, triggers, and how your system responds over time rather than a single moment of symptoms.

4. Why am I still dizzy?
Dizziness can involve different systems such as balance, vision, and neck function. A graded, movement-based approach can help identify contributing factors.

5. How do I know if I’m ready to go back to work or sport?
It is not just about feeling better. We look at how your body responds to cognitive and physical demands, including tolerance to activity and symptom response under load.

6. Why am I still dealing with brain fog?
Brain fog can occur when your brain is still working harder than usual to process information. Gradual exposure to activity and structured progression can help improve tolerance over time.

If you’re navigating concussion recovery and unsure what is safe to do next, working with a guided rehab plan can help you move forward with more confidence. Send us a message or book an appointment, and we can help you take the next step.

You felt fine…
then symptoms showed up later. 🧠

After a concussion, symptoms can appear during and/or after activity.

What feels manageable at first may still lead to a delayed response as the brain processes load over time.

That’s why symptoms that build later often need a different approach. Taking a proactive strategy can be more effective than only reacting once symptoms appear.

We help you understand how your system responds to load and build strategies to reduce those later-day crashes, even when an activity doesn’t feel triggering right away.

If this is something you’re noticing, it may be helpful to get assessed so you can better understand your symptoms and how to manage them moving forward.

What concussion rehab is actually retraining 💪

It’s not just about rest or waiting for symptoms to go away. Rehab is about retraining how your brain and body handle demand again.

➡️ Reaction Time
Improves how quickly you process and respond

➡️ Visual Processing
Helps your eyes and brain work together efficiently

➡️ Balance & Coordination
Rebuilds stability and spatial awareness

➡️ Exertion Tolerance
Increases how much activity your system can handle

➡️ Symptom Recovery Speed
Reduces how long symptoms last after being triggered

➡️ Cognitive Load Tolerance
Helps you handle screens, work, and busy environments without overload

If symptoms are sticking around or showing up after activity, it often means these systems still need support and retraining.

Concussion rehab is about building capacity again, not just managing symptoms.

If this sounds like where you’re at, we can help you figure out what your next step should look like.

What looks like a simple catch is actually your brain and body coordinating multiple systems in real time.

🟢 Vision + Reaction Time
Your eyes track the ball while your brain processes speed and direction, then sends the signal to respond.

🟢 Coordination Between Brain and Body
Your brain, arms, and hands are constantly communicating to time the catch accurately.

🟢 Balance + Postural Control
Your body stabilizes you while you move, so you can stay controlled and precise.

🟢 Timing + Motor Control
It’s not just movement. It’s the ability to move at the right time, in the right sequence.

🟢 Attention + Processing
Your brain is filtering distractions and focusing on the task in real time.

When any part of this system is off, even slightly, performance and symptoms can change.

That’s why in rehab we don’t just look at one area. We look at how everything works together.

If this made you think differently about movement or recovery, reach out and we can help you break it down properly.

It’s a question we get a lot, and the answer isn’t always “right away.”

In the early phase, some symptoms are expected and often settle with time. The key thing we look for is steady improvement, even if it’s gradual.

When should you reach out? If your symptoms persist past the two-week mark without a clear downward trend, it’s time to take a closer look.

It’s a common myth that recovery is just about waiting it out, but symptoms don’t always go away on their own, and simply resting isn’t always what’s needed. Earlier treatment often leads to an earlier recovery.

Additionally, for some people like athletes, waiting a couple of weeks isn’t always ideal. If you’re looking to get ahead of your recovery and have a clear plan early on, it’s completely okay to come in after just a few days.

If things feel like they’ve plateaued, are getting triggered easily, or just aren’t improving the way you expected, that’s usually a sign your system needs more guidance than “wait and see.”

Recovery is about understanding what’s being affected and giving your body the right input at the right time. The sooner you get clarity, the easier it is to move forward with a plan that actually works 💪

If you’re unsure where you’re at right now, getting assessed can give you direction and peace of mind 💚

Our goal is always to meet you where you’re at, understand what you’re going through, and build a plan that helps you move forward with confidence. 💪

If you or someone you know is dealing with a concussion or brain injury, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

What your brain is actually struggling with after a concussion 🧠

It’s not always just a headache or feeling “off”
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes that can affect how you think, move, and function day to day.

➡️ Processing Speed
Your brain may take longer to take in and respond to information.
This can feel like:
• Brain fog
• Slower thinking

➡️ Visual Processing
Your eyes and brain may not be working efficiently together.
This can show up as:
• Headaches with screens
• Sensitivity to light or busy environments

➡️ Balance & Spatial Awareness
Your system that keeps you steady and oriented can be affected.
This can feel like:
• Dizziness
• Feeling off-balance

➡️ Coordination Between Systems
It’s not just one system.
It’s how they all work together.
That’s why symptoms can feel inconsistent and unpredictable.

If you’re noticing these with screens, movement, or daily tasks, or your symptoms aren’t improving after 10 to 14 days, it’s a good time to get things properly assessed so you know what’s actually limiting your recovery.

Send us a message or book in if you want some clarity and a plan moving forward. 🤝

Dizziness after a concussion isn’t always coming from the same place, and treating it the same way can slow recovery.

What feels like “just dizziness” can actually come from different systems in the body, which is why some people improve quickly while others feel stuck.

When we identify the true cause, rehab becomes more targeted and effective.

🧠 Why this matters
Different systems can create similar symptoms, but they don’t all need the same treatment. Guessing can delay progress.

A proper assessment helps guide the right plan forward.

👉 If symptoms persist or show up with screens, movement, or busy environments, get it checked. We're here to guide you.

It’s not just one test or one symptom. We look at how different systems in your body and brain are working together to understand the full picture.

1️⃣ Reaction Time
How quickly your brain processes information and responds

2️⃣ Vision and Eye Movements
Tracking, focus, and how your eyes coordinate with your brain

3️⃣ Balance and Coordination
How steady and controlled your body is during movement

4️⃣ Exertion Tolerance
How your symptoms respond when you start moving or exercising

5️⃣ Symptom Patterns
What triggers your symptoms and how they change over time

A proper assessment helps connect all these pieces so your recovery plan is actually tailored to you.

If you're still feeling “off” after a head injury, you don’t have to go through this alone. Book an assessment and let’s work together to find the clarity you need to start feeling like yourself again.
