Not wanting to “bother” a GP for a simple test when it isn’t an urgent issue is a common feeling, and an interim evaluation of HealthTab’s cholesterol POCT pilot revealed that patients appreciated being to able access testing at their community pharmacy for this reason and many more. Patients valued:

→ The convenience and speed of testing in a local pharmacy;

→ Clear, personalized explanations supporting their understanding of CVD risk from a pharmacist; and

→ The ability to access testing without needing a GP appointment, with some noting they would not otherwise have sought support.

Positive experiences like this really highlight how HealthTab is helping make prevention more accessible by bringing convenient, connected testing into the community pharmacy setting.

With the news that HealthTab has now screened more than 3,500 patients and—among many other milestones—completed a record volume of 2,295 HbA1c tests across North East and North Central London in an initial one-month pilot, we are excited to announce “The Path Forward,” a strategic update outlining our UK expansion strategy for our point-of-care testing platform.

The update outlines our progression from NHS-linked pilot programmes in London toward broader regional and national expansion across England, supported by clinical outcomes, independent evaluation, and growing institutional support.
