Dr. Claire Kao graduated from the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) program from the PCU College of Holistic Medicine, which is a school that one of the leading clinical and educational institutions of TCM in Canada and is certified by both the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists (CTCMA) in British Columbia and by the National Certification Commissi
on of Acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in the United States. It is also accredited by the Private Training Institution Branch. Dr. Kao has an official doctoral licence to practice TCM by the CTCMA that she obtained after her studies.
With a focused background of educational experience, Dr. Kao decided to continue her own education through another route, setting out internationally to study with and train under great masters of acupuncture and TCM in countries like China, Taiwan, Germany and the United States. Her dedication towards knowledge and her passion for healing has led her to become highly skilled in several different focuses, and she is able to diagnose and treat patients with a variety of ailments.
Dr. Kao has been practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine in British Columbia since 2008 after opening her own general practice in Vancouver West. At her clinic, she focuses on a range of issues such as internal medicine, gynecology, pain syndrome, dermatology, withdrawal syndrome and mental issues. She is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, a registered acupuncturist and TCM herbalist, an aura-soma colour therapist, a hypnosis practitioner and a Reiki practitioner. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Kao is an avid teacher and scholar at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as she is committed to not only sharing the knowledge she has gained throughout her travels and education, but is also happy to continue studying and learning, so that she can consistently strive to add new treatments and expand the clinic and her ability to help people.
