🌱 Off to Charlottetown! 🌱

I'm heading to Prince Edward Island tonight for the 2025 ECDA Spring Conference: Planting Seeds of Change hosted by the Early Childhood Development Association of PEI at Colonel Gray High School on May 2.

This will be my first time in Charlottetown and attending this inspiring conference, and I’m thrilled to be presenting two of my favourite topics:

If you’re attending, come say hi—I’d love to connect and chat!

Looking forward to sharing ideas, learning from others, and planting seeds of meaningful change together.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

I’m delighted to share that my article, "Embracing Collective Diversity: Lessons from a Study with Relocated Early Childhood Educators," has been published in the ECEBC Journal Fall 2024! This piece, a summary of my presentation at the World Forum on Early Care and Education earlier this year, explores the multiple layers of diversity among early childhood educators and highlights the strength of community in fostering inclusive educational practices.

A big thank you to Emily Mlieczko, Executive Director of ECEBC, for encouraging me to submit this article, and to the amazing editorial team.

There’s even more exciting news coming soon—I can’t wait to share it with you in the near future!

💬 If you’ve had a chance to read the article, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Hello everyone,

I can hardly believe it’s already November! The past months have been full, and I haven’t had a chance to share any updates about upcoming workshops. On a personal note, our family reached a new milestone: I am now the proud mother of a kindergartener. This transition has brought unexpected challenges, like early dismissal and professional development days, as well as the struggle of a 3 pm pick-up time for working parents. Although we are slowly settling down, finding after-school care was nearly impossible, and we dearly miss the reliable routine and incredible support we had during our daycare days.

Professionally, I’ve stepped into the role of coordinator at my college. Like any new position, it has involved a lot of learning and adjusting. I’m also excited to share that my article will be published at the end of November. Stay tuned for more exciting news that I’ll be sharing soon!

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all having a fantastic summer! Apologies for not being very active here lately—it's been a whirlwind of projects since April.

So far, I've had the privilege of presenting at the World Forum, taking my students on an incredible trip to Wales, launching a new assistant program this summer, and engaging in various committee work. I've also been working diligently on an article (exciting news about that coming this fall or early winter!).

I'm also thrilled to share that I'll be stepping into a coordinator role at my college in September, so this summer has been packed with learning and growth.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer, and I look forward to connecting with some of you in the fall through workshops. Soak up the sunshine!

🌍 Let's make it official! 🌟

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be presenting at the World Forum on Wednesday, April 17, at 4:15 PM, in the Vancouver Sheraton Wall Centre - Junior Ballroom C. My session is titled "Bridging Gaps, Embracing Diversity in ECE."

I'll be focusing specifically on diversity among Early Childhood Educators (ECEs). This is a topic close to my heart, and I believe it's crucial for the development of inclusive and supportive learning environments for our little ones.

🙌 I'm looking forward to connecting with you all.

See you there!
