On August 22nd we were honoured to hold a book talk with professor of history Lauren Faulkner, and author Marie Doduck. She was awarded the Order of Canada for her 50+ years of contributions to Holocaust education and philanthropy. Her recently published memoir, A Childhood Unspoken, is being used as a teaching tool for students and educators, sharing her survivor story with thousands. Marie is also the co-founder of the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre to support Holocaust-based anti-racism education and commemoration.

Bonpon511 – otherwise known as Tsuyoshi and Tomi Seki – appear almost daily in an array of outfits incorporating similar styles and colours. The simplicity of their sartorial choices has earned them praise from fashion commentators and adoration among their almost 900,000 followers. The playful images, taken with an iPhone mounted on a tripod, also communicate the obvious pleasure they derive from each other’s company, 38 years after the college sweethearts married.

Last Wednesday we celebrated our 23rd year anniversary with a wine and cheese event for residents, families, and friends, featuring musical guest Peter Tam!
