Tyler Milley Counselling Services

Tyler Milley Counselling Services Tyler Milley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Metro Vancouver helping individuals, couples, and families overcome anxiety, depression, and conflict.

Tyler Milley is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors ( #2886) and holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Tyler has over twenty years experience working with children, youth, and families, and works collaboratively with clients to develop and attain their goals. His friendliness and relational style create a warm environment where individuals, couples, and families are safe to explore their thoughts, feeling, and behaviours. Tyler utilizes many of the proven methods found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy while maintaining both Family Systems and Attachment perspectives. This ensures that families and individuals are known within their context and that changes made by an individual are sustainable within a family structure. Tyler has spent a significant amount of time doing humanitarian work in various countries all over the world. This, along with being a part of the adoptive community, has created a love and respect of different cultures which he brings into his counselling. Tyler was born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver but has never owned a mountain bike. Regardless he continues to happily live there with his wife and three children.

Hello Wonderful People,

The BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 4 is rapidly approaching and once again I will be attempting to propel myself around the gorgeous 42.2 kilometer course for no good reason at all. Well, there would be no good reason if I wasn't doing it for my own mental health and to help raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The CMHA's mission is to ensure that all people in Canada experience good mental health and well-being by creating a Canada where mental health is a universal human right.

In any given year, approximately 1 in 5 Canadians experience a mental illness, and by the time they reach 40, about half of Canadians will have or have had a mental illness. I am included in this half of Canadians and when depression became part of my reality it re-enforced to me the importance of accessible and affordable mental health care for all. The CMHA helps provide exactly this.

So please help make this meaningless running stuff meaningful by giving generously to this incredibly worthy cause.

Thank you!

-Tyler

Kenton Klassen is amazing.

This week marks 6 months since the beginning of Beyond the Pines Therapy! A huge thank you to everyone who has spread the word, encouraged me, or interacted with my content.

I am grateful to report that the practice is going well! I am learning a LOT. Clients are finding me and I've been able to open up more availability. It has been such a privilege to be entrusted with the vulnerable and difficult experiences of the wonderful people in my office.

I am also very grateful for the backing of Launchpad Counselling this year, as they have been providing business consultation, clinical supervision, and a regular community of therapists.

Looking forward to the next 6 months!

A couple of years ago my friend, Peter La Grand, and I were discussing two needs we were seeing: clients’ needs for highly personalized and deeply compassionate counselling, and new counsellors’ needs for empathic supervision and encouraging support as they begin a private counselling practice. To that end we created Launchpad Counselling and a one-year associate position called the Launchpad Fellowship.
If you or someone you know is looking for a highly skilled, mature therapist who is currently accepting new clients, they can contact me at launchpadcounselling.com and I will connect you with one of our associates.
Our 2024 Launchpad Fellowship recipient is the gentle and wise Jennifer Schine. Jenni is a naturally gifted therapist with an incredibly calming presence. To learn more about Jenni or to book a session, please contact me directly or visit launchpadcounselling.com.
