Guys!! I am so excited to be bringing pilates into the Heal Your Roots toolbelt! If you've been in recently you know I've been shifting the narrative from what we can do in our massage session to what you can do on your own at home for your health. For those of you who have tried some 1:1 Somatic Movement sessions or homecare you know how powerful that shift can be! Looking forward to adding some body awareness and strength to you in the new year. Thanks NeuMovement Pilates & Physiotherapy for the opportunity to learn online πŸ™ ❀️ and thanks to all my wonderful clients for growing with my business through the years ✨️😘

Love Gabor and his work. I definitely see a correlation in personality and certain chronic conditions

Many of us carry two powerful beliefs that silently shape our lives: that we're responsible for other people's feelings, and that disappointing others is something to be avoided at all costs. These aren't just passing thoughts - they're deeply embedded cultural programming that affects our physical health in ways we rarely recognize.

Think about how these messages were delivered throughout your childhood. When adults said "you're making me angry" or "don't make me sad," they weren't just expressing emotions - they were teaching you that their feelings were your responsibility. This conditioning likely came with consequences - punishment, withdrawal of love, or criticism whenever you failed to manage someone else's emotional state properly.

What makes this particularly damaging is how our nervous systems adapt to these expectations. Our bodies develop a state of continuous hypervigilance, constantly scanning for signs of others' displeasure while simultaneously suppressing our own authentic needs and emotions. This isn't just psychologically taxing - it creates a persistent state of stress that demands enormous physical resources from our bodies.

The connection between this chronic stress response and physical illness is profound but often overlooked. When our systems remain in perpetual alert mode, constantly monitoring others' reactions and suppressing our own truth, we deplete the very resources our bodies need for immune function, tissue repair, and overall health maintenance.

What might be possible if we could release these burdensome beliefs? Imagine if our wiser, more compassionate adult selves could revisit those moments of early conditioning and offer our younger parts what they actually needed - permission to have their own emotions without responsibility for others', validation that their needs matter, and assurance that disappointing someone doesn't make them unworthy of love.

This internal shift creates ripples that extend outward. When we stop participating in the cultural pattern of codependency and self-suppression, we challenge the very notion that these patterns are "normal" or healthy. We create space for a new paradigm based on authentic self-expression and healthy interdependence - where relationships thrive on mutual respect for each person's sovereignty rather than emotional management and control.

This transformation begins within but ultimately becomes a profound act of cultural change - one person, one relationship, one community at a time.

Hi all!! My Sunday class remains full as we move into October (all the members wanted to continue in for the next month)! I will only be running the one class in October, however in November was thinking of adding some Somatic Movement and Core Connection classes.
Is this something we are interested in or would we mostly be interested in yin meditation type classes. Would we want availability on weekends or weekdays and during the day or the evening πŸ€”
Please let me know below and we can see what we can create πŸ‘‡βœ¨οΈπŸ’•

If you are interested in one on one yoga sessions or somatic sessions I will also be opening my schedule for this as well. Any questions, send me a message!

Much love xx 😘

Exciting changes in the works! We are patiently awaiting a business name change, tying up loose ends on a website, and opening up some space in September for REST! A couple years ago I took some yin yoga teacher training, and I've used it for my self weekly (sometimes daily) since.
Although these classes won't be structured like a classic yoga class, we will still incorporate the long hold postures to help break up tension and scar tissue in the body and realign fascia, ligaments and tendons. We will also be using different elements like crystals, herbs, prayer and meditation to get in touch with the personal messages of your body. Connecting with the organs and receiving hand on treatments by yours truly. I am very excited to see how these go and hopefully continue to offer these types of classes moving into the fall and winter, when it is so important to slow down and rest!
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns, these classes will be very intimate as my class can only hold six mats

Our Story

People often ask me, β€œwhat made you get into massage therapy?” and honestly I don’t really have an interesting answer. I had worked as a health care assistant for 5 years with the idea of becoming a nurse. However was deterred by the counter intuitive approach that the medical system took in dealing with health issues. Medicating and then re-medicating to counteract the side effects of the first medication?! It seemed ridiculous to me! So I started researching more natural approaches to health care, massage came up.. however it wasn’t really talked about to the degree that chiropractors or physiotherapists were. I decided to go to school and learn about the human body. During my practical and the 2 years I have been massaging since graduating, I have been blown away by the response I’ve had from my patients. People who have been struggling with pain for years were no longer taking their pain medication everyday. It is truly the most amazing feeling in the World to witness someone take control of their health and make an effort to heal, and then do so. The mind-body connection has been proven to me time and time again through my experiences and I love to help reconnect that connection with my patients and remind them that they have a choice. We have a choice to heal! I look forward to continuing my career working with patients and their bodies and learning through them how amazing our bodies can be! Thank you for all the love and support Samantha Morin xx
