Why do we feel we always have to keep going?

When stress keeps coming, it’s easy to believe the solution is to work harder or react faster. But constantly popping the next 'bubble' often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

Sometimes the most meaningful shift begins when we pause long enough to understand what’s creating the pressure in the first place.

Are you living the life you work hard for?

We work incredibly hard to build a life we can feel proud of.
But for many professionals, the routine meant to support that life slowly becomes a trap.

In the process of making a living, we can lose touch with the life we were actually trying to build.

So many high-performing professionals describe this feeling. On the outside, you're doing it all. On the inside, you feel disconnected from the things that once brought you joy and purpose.

Does this clip resonate with you?

Ever been at dinner but your mind is still at work?
That’s the spillover effect.

Stress doesn’t stay in one place.
Work follows you home, and home stress follows you back to work.
Over time, that constant mental overlap erodes rest, presence, and joy.

Noticing this pattern is often the first sign something needs to shift.

This is how burnout sneaks up on professionals.

We keep moving the goalpost on ourselves. And every time we reach one milestone, we’re already pushing toward the next. We keep going, keep pushing, keep waiting for things to ease…but we never quite get there.

This year, .change was invited to take part in the King Heritage and Cultural Centre’s annual Trees of Giving initiative. With a theme of through the decades, our team designed a tree that reflects the phases of a life lived, a nostalgic journey for visitors and a reminder of the milestones we explore with clients. We do not take lightly the trust clients place in us, and this year’s tree was created as an ode to that shared journey.

Stop by to explore the Trees of Giving installations and cast a vote for your favourite. We would love for you to experience our through the decades tree in person.

We all have moments where our wolf comes out - the part of us that gets loud, guarded, or reactive when we feel hurt or misunderstood.

In relationships, those moments can pull you into a pattern where you’re protecting yourselves instead of truly seeing each other.

In therapy, we call this the cycle - and the cycle is the problem, not either partner.

When you can name the cycle, you can step out of the fight and start choosing the relationship again.

🛋️ Follow along for more ways to find your way out of those full moon moments.

🐺 "When the wolf comes out, I don’t recognize us anymore."

Even the strongest couples can get caught in a cycle - when defenses rise, connection fades, and every conversation starts to feel like a full moon moment.

When anxiety takes hold, it can feel like if you stop, even for a moment, everything will fall apart.

So you keep spinning, fixing, planning… trying to hold it all together.
But constant doing isn’t the same as being in control.

Elli Khosousi shares how slowing down just enough can help you hear what your anxiety is trying to communicate, so you can respond with clarity instead of fear.
