As a clinic dedicated to maternal health with a mission to support and empower women throughout motherhood, The Nest Health has joined the CPMHC’s initiative and is leading a Flora’s Walk for Perinatal Mental Health in our city of Vaughan.
This event raises awareness around the need for better perinatal mental health care in Canada. Perinatal mental health issues are an often quiet, but common struggle many women endure alone with little support. That is why we are bringing awareness so that all who need it have timely access to perinatal mental health services. The woman and inspiration for this event, Flora Babakhani, was a young Canadian mom who tragically lost her life to untreated postpartum psychosis on January 14th, 2022. You can read more about Flora’s story by heading to the link in our bio!
The event will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at Chatfield District Park, Vaughan, ON.
We will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with a warm-up, then our walk, followed by a cool-down, and raffle prizes/closing remarks at the end. All are welcome to walk with us: this is a stroller/wagon-friendly, animal-friendly walk, and we hope that many families (kids, spouses, grandparents, and friends) will join us to walk, discuss, promote, and support perinatal mental health. 😊
If you’d like to sponsor our walk through a monetary donation you will be adding to the funds being raised to improve local services.
In-kind donations like raffle prizes, photography, face painting coffee, tea, snacks etc would also be much appreciated!
We thank you in advance for your support and consideration of becoming a sponsor.
Please help us spread the word about our walk and this initiative! And please consider registering to walk with us on May 5th. There is no fee to register!
You can register by heading to our registration page which you can find in the the link in our bio!
We appreciate any kindness you can offer.
Sincerely,
The Nest Health Team!❤️
