Low energy. Low mood. Getting sick more often than usual.
A lot of people assume vitamin D is the fix — but guessing your dose isn’t the answer.

Bloodwork matters. Absorption matters. And sometimes supplements alone aren’t enough.
This is how we approach vitamin D properly.

New year doesn’t create change.
New habits do.

If resolutions keep falling apart, it’s not a lack of willpower.
It’s usually the systems underneath them.

Real progress comes from small, repeatable actions you can actually stick to — not big January promises.

And if you need help building those habits, we’re here to support you.

Doctor vs. Google 🤔📱
Who should you really trust when you’re in pain?

Most of us have done it.
You leave an appointment feeling unsure…
So you Google your symptoms — and suddenly it’s worst-case scenarios, rare diseases, and panic.

In this episode, Dr. Angela Mailis breaks down:
• Why Google often amplifies fear
• How online health searches can actually worsen pain and anxiety
• Why a proper history + physical exam still matters more than search results
• And how trust between doctor and patient affects healing

Being informed is good.
Being overwhelmed is not.

If the holidays feel emotionally overwhelming, you’re not ungrateful. You’re overloaded.

Family dynamics, schedule changes, expectations, grief… it adds up. That’s not weakness. It’s your nervous system trying to keep up.

Try this:
10-second pause (breathe, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw)
Name it: “I’m overwhelmed”
One gentle boundary: “I need a minute” or “I’m stepping outside for air”

Taking care of your nervous system is taking care of your holiday.

Holiday food doesn’t have to wreck your health. Most people don’t notice the bloating, sugar crashes, or weight gain until it’s too late, but a few smart tweaks can change everything.

Daytime sweets hit your body differently and are easier to handle. Protein keeps cravings from taking over. And simple teas like peppermint, chamomile, and fennel can make a real difference with bloating.

Small habits create a big payoff. Enjoy the holidays and still feel good in your body.

If you want help staying on track, I’m offering free 15 minute naturopathic consults this season.

If you’re trying to pull off the perfect holiday, pause for a second.

Holiday stress and perfectionism are real, and they can steal your peace. This season, choose mindful living and mental health over perfect photos. Pick one thing that matters, let the rest be flexible, and stay present with your family.

Your worth isn’t measured by a perfect holiday.

Choose presence over perfection. 🎄✨

Trying to boost your testosterone naturally?
Here are the basics most people overlook.

Resistance training and HIIT? Backed by research.
Sun exposure? Not just for vitamin D — it supports hormone production too.
Supplements like zinc or ashwagandha? Helpful, but nowhere near TRT-level effects.

And creatine? Amazing for your brain and muscles,
but not a testosterone booster (despite what the internet says).

If you’re trying to optimize hormones without medication, start with the fundamentals:
move well, get sunlight, fuel properly, and manage stress.

Therapy is only for people with real problems... right?
Not exactly.
Therapy isn’t about waiting until everything falls apart.
It’s for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, unsure, or simply wants to understand themselves better.
A session gives you space - real space - to unpack what’s been heavy, explore your thoughts without judgment, and replace unhelpful patterns with healthier ones.
Sometimes it’s learning how to calm your mind.
Sometimes it’s untangling old habits in a new way.
But it always means one thing: you don’t have to navigate it alone.
No problem is “too small.”
If it matters to you, it matters.
If you’ve been thinking about getting support, this is your reminder:
Your story is worth the space.

Injury and Capacity
Why do injuries keep coming back?
Because life’s *demands* are outweighing your body’s *capacity*. ⚖️
Tiffany shows how managing your “load” and rebuilding your resilience keeps pain away — for good.

Our Story

The Pain & Wellness Centre opened its doors in September 2014. It is an interdisciplinary, specialty clinic that aims to treat as well as prevent pain and maintain wellness. It is comprehensive, uses the whole person approach, and offers choices regarding treatments. It bridges eastern and western medicine, always using best practice guidelines and evidence based treatments, and offers multiple programs and services under one roof.

We have a team of experienced, well trained health care providers in the field of Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, Psychology, Naturopathy, Holistic Nutrition, Mindfulness. Our combined skills, our commitment to the best patient care, and our compassionate approach to chronic pain management make our clinic unique and the number one choice of all of our patients.

Since most of the Pain & Wellness senior staff come from academic institutions with many years of experience in training and research, our Centre welcomes trainees from Universities and accredited health institutions (medical students, chiropractic students and residents/ trainees in Family practice or other specialties). After all, it is of paramount importance that young health providers are trained to view and assess one’s condition from a “whole person perspective”. We will always ask you whether you consent to allow trainees to attend your history and physical examination. If you choose not to, this will not affect your treatment in any way.

Whether you are suffering from chronic pain or you are just looking to have a more balanced, healthy lifestyle, our knowledgable and professional staff will help you achieve unparalleled health and happiness, one step at a time.
