Coffee, like most things, can be good in some ways but harmful in others, if you drink coffee in moderation it can actually have many benefits such as decreasing risk of developing type 2 diabetes, liver damage, liver and colorectal cancer, improving memory, energy levels, vigilance, cognitive function, exercise performance and more. However if you drink too much coffee this can cause negative effects and this outweighs all the possible benefits such as headaches, insomnia, high cholesterol, worsening anxiety or anxious feelings, high blood pressure and more.

💡How much is too much?

Adults - up to 400 mg per day is safe (this is equal to about 4 cups of brewed coffee and about 2-3 espressos depending on the strength and sourcing of the bean)
Pregnancy- up to 200 mg per day is safe.

Not only does the quantity of your coffee matter but the quality is extremely important too! Coffee beans can contain heavy metals and mould depending on the sourcing of the bean, this is why it is important to buy organic coffee and do your research (you can ask for certificates of analysis from the company, just like talked about with protein powders).
