Kalyna Country Primary Care Network Welcome to the Kalyna Country PCN! Our doctors and staff work in the communities of Killam, Hardisty, Tofield, Vegreville, Vermilion, and Viking.

As physicians and healthcare providers working in your community, the Kalyna Country PCN is committed to providing you with programs and services designed to improve your quality of care. Primary Care Networks, or PCNs, are an innovative way of delivering exceptional health care. The networks have at their hub your family physician. It has been well documented that having your own family physician improves your health. Through the PCN, your family doctor is connected to a wide variety of health care professionals who will ensure that you get the support, information and additional care that you need to be the healthiest you possible. Feeling a little off today? ⏰ The time change can disrupt your body’s internal clock, leaving many people feeling tired or low on energy. As you adjust this week, small habits can help your body get back on track.

Try keeping a consistent bedtime tonight, getting outside for some daylight, moving your body during the day and limiting caffeine later in the afternoon. These simple sleep hygiene habits can help restore your energy and support better sleep.

Taking care of your sleep is an important part of your overall health. If you need support, start the conversation with your primary care team.

Why are mammograms important? Screening mammograms are routine tests used to find early signs of cancer in individuals who have no breast problems or symptoms. They can find changes in the breast that are too small to be felt, before symptoms appear and when treatment may work better. To learn more about Screen Test, visit our website or call us at 1-800-667-0604.

Cervical cancer is preventable—and Alberta is moving to a better way to screen for it.

The new HPV screening test is more effective than Pap tests and checks for high-risk HPV types that can lead to cervical cancer.

It’s now offered to Albertans ages 50–69, with plans to expand to ages 25–49. Talk to your healthcare provider for more information or visit https://screeningforlife.ca/cervical/get-screened/cervical-screening-test/
