About 1 in 4 cancer deaths in Canada is caused by lung cancer, making it the country’s leading cause of cancer death.*

This Lung Cancer Awareness Month, know the signs that should never be ignored:
➡️ Chest pain that lingers
➡️ A cough that doesn’t go away
➡️ Coughing up blood
➡️ Frequent bouts of pneumonia or bronchitis
➡️ Unexplained weight loss or loss of appetite
➡️ Feeling tired all the time

👉 In Alberta, eligible adults can use the ‘Screen for Life’ self-assessment tool to see if they qualify for lung cancer screening. Prevention also plays a major role, reducing your risks can significantly lower your chance of developing lung cancer. For more information about screening and prevention, visit the ‘Lung’ category at screeningforlife.ca

Most importantly, if something feels “off”, don’t wait — talk to your primary care provider.
