With cold and flu season upon us, it’s more important than ever to keep our hands clean and our residents healthy.

This week, our Clinical Director was out and about completing hand hygiene audits across the building. A great reminder that proper handwashing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of illness.

We appreciate everyone’s efforts in maintaining high infection control standards and helping keep our lodge a safe, healthy environment for all!

Today, a few of our team members attended the Community Connect & Learn session in Mannville!

This free regional FCSS learning event brought together professionals from across the area to share ideas on community engagement, fundraising, volunteering, and embracing change in our organizations.

It’s always inspiring to connect with others who are passionate about making a difference and continuing to learn how to benefit our residents, volunteers, and the Vermilion & District Housing Foundation as a whole.

Jojo Buno - Housekeeping

This month we’re celebrating one of our dedicated housekeeper’s! Jojo has been with VDHF for just under 2 years. His biggest motivation at work is family and faith. He proud of the relationships he’s built with residents and coworkers, and his proudest moment was becoming a father. Thank you Jojo for your dedication and hard work!

Thank you to Lloydminster Servus Credit Union for their generous donation towards our resident-run sewing room! Our sewing committee has been busy with some very meaningful projects, this donation will help them to continue their important work for Bags of Love & SPARK Foundation. It will also help residents to be able to continue projects within the lodge! We are so grateful!

This afternoon our Vermilion Valley Lodge joined in on the Oktoberfest fun! To start things off we had our CAO tap the keg, as per Munich tradition, the Mayor taps the keg then the celebration was on! Residents enjoyed some beer, soft pretzels and beer cheese while playing a jeopardy game all about Germany & Oktoberfest!

A heartfelt thank you to Southview Ag (Farkash Family) for choosing Vermilion & District Housing Foundation as their charity of choice in the Nutrien Hometown Yield Challenge!

This afternoon, our CAO, Brittany Bratrud, and CFO, Sasha Savic, had the privilege of heading out to the field to watch the crop being taken off. It was inspiring to see the hard work that goes into this challenge and the generosity behind supporting local organizations like ours.

If Southview Ag is named the Grand Prize Winner, VDHF will receive $20,000 — or one of three runner-up prizes of $5,000 each. These funds would directly support the seniors and community members we serve every day.

We are so grateful to Southview Ag for thinking of VDHF and Nutrien Ag Solutions for their commitment to making a difference right here in our community. Please join us in cheering them on and check back later in the year to see if we were they were in the winners.
