A few more radon tests set-up this week going into the last weekend to book and install your long-term radon measurement test for the winter. Starting next week we will be switching to our short term radon monitor testing ramping up for the home buying season.

On the fence about having your home tested? Ask to be put on our reminder list for the fall/winter 2027.

You can still order a long term test after this weekend but thre are a few extra steps to the testing (keeping windows and doors closed as much as possible in your home until the test is done in closed house conditions.

The goal of this post isn’t to scare anyone, but to raise awareness that high levels of radon can exist in homes across PEI.

This reading—shared with us from a home in the Stratford area—measured 20 times higher than Health Canada’s guideline for mitigation. While this is not a typical result, 1 in 5 homes in PEI test above Health Canada’s recommended levels. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, which is why testing is so important.
