This year’s Good Food Box of the North Okanagan fundraising initiative in partnership with the Community Foundation North Okanagan is aimed at tackling food insecurity among North Okanagan seniors. Our goal is to raise enough funds to sponsor 100 North Okanagan Senior’s Good Food Boxes for an entire year! This program provides essential nutrition through fresh fruits and vegetables, greatly enhancing the health and well-being of sponsored seniors.
Sponsoring a senior not only addresses their nutritional needs but also fosters a sense of community and connection. Each delivery serves as a poignant reminder to seniors that they are cherished and remembered. Your generous contribution can significantly impact their daily lives, offering comfort and peace of mind.
With a donation of $216, you can sponsor a Senior Small Box for a whole year, ensuring a monthly supply of seasonally available fresh produce. For $360, the Senior Small Box Plus provides additional nourishment with a half loaf of Cobs Bread, half a dozen farm-fresh eggs, and a locally curated treat each month.

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour the knowledge, culture, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples across these lands.

At Archway Society for Domestic Peace, we are grateful to live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. We hold deep respect for the stewards of this land and the generations who have lived in relationship with it.

We acknowledge the disproportionate rates of violence experienced by Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people—rooted in colonization, systemic racism, and intergenerational trauma. These truths cannot be separated from the work we do.

As we walk alongside women, families and children impacted by domestic and sexual violence, we commit to ongoing learning, to decolonizing our practices, and to ensuring our supports are culturally safe and responsive.

Come help us celebrate 50 years of creativity!

Creative Chaos is hailed as one of the major tourist events in Vernon B.C. attracting some 15,000 men, women and children to the largest craft sale of its kind in western Canada. It showcases approximately 225 artisans and crafters from throughout B.C., the Pacific Northwest, and the rest of Canada. As well there are Specialty Food products, Wine and Liquor tastings, and under the “big tent”, next to the Food Court, which offers a scrumptious variety of Food Trucks, Creative Chaos hosts some of the best in local performing arts talent. It’s 3 days of … well … “CREATIVE CHAOS”.
And to celebrate 50 years we are hosting a special Kids Zone on Sunday June 8. Bring the whole family for kids entertainment, games, crafts, and of course cupcakes.
The 50th. edition of Creative Chaos takes place in all 3 buildings of the Vernon Recreation Complex, 3310 37. Ave. on June 6, 10-8; June 7 10-7; June 8, 10-4. Admission is free however we are encouraging a cash or food donation for the Salvation Army Food Bank Kettle campaign.

Don’t forget about the FREE shuttle bus leaving from Schubert Center and Kal Tire Place.

There’s something for everyone to see, taste, or hear and of course the shopping is great too!
