Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services is a family-owned and operated business, proudly supporting the communities of Vernon, Armstrong, Lake Country and Kamloops. We are currently seeking a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer to work between our Vernon and Armstrong offices.

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer Job Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service in all areas of funeral arrangements, cremation ceremonies, and interment;
- Perform on-call duties including communicating with families, conducting transfers, embalming, and sanitary care, all while providing the utmost care for the deceased;
- Operate our on-site crematorium (with training provided);
- Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner consistent with company policies and procedures;
- Ensures adherence to all applicable professional and provincial licensing authority regulations and rules;
- Ensures the strict confidentiality and privacy of clients and business-related records;
- Performs other related funeral service duties as assigned;

This position includes a higher than average pay scale, generous benefits package, RRSP match program, and a yearly uniform allowance. If you are located out of region or province, we will provide a moving allowance for the most suitable candidate.

Qualifications/Skills:
- High level of compassion and integrity;
- Valid Driver’s license (BC or equivalent);
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload;
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
- Willingness to take on tasks as needed;

Education & Experience Requirements:
- Valid British Columbia Funeral Director and Embalmers License (For those applicants who currently hold licenses in another province, we will assist and cover all transferring costs);
- At least 2 years of licensed work experience in the profession;
