The Power of Touch Through Massage

Hello, my name is Carlie Lovell, I am attending Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon BC. I am currently learning how to help assist healing for others through the power of touch. I am being educated on how the body works, what we're made up of and how our bodies react to internal and external stimuli. While in school, I am learning palpation skills, how to assess, and different mas

sage techniques, so that I am able to help maintain/increase tissue pliability, range of motion, circulation, decrease pain, tension, stress and improve over all wellness. As a student, I am able to offer relaxation massages to help get you out of that "fight or flight" state and into the more relaxing "rest and digest" mode. My goals once I graduate are to offer more treatment based massage and help with rehabilitation. I am currently learning all the things available in this field so to be able to decide my direction upon graduation is not possible, but to me, that is exciting and allows for many amazing opportunities!!
