Blue Skye Midwifery Not currently accepting new patients Midwives provide care to pregnant women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and up to 8 weeks postpartum. .

Midwives offer choice of birth place. Most women have the option to choose between a home birth or a hospital birth. Women choosing midwifery care have access to all the same labs, ultrasounds and other diagnostic tools that are available to women choosing physician lead care for their pregnancies. Midwifery services are covered by MSP.

Overall vaginal birth rate: 78%
Overall c-section rate: 22%
12 successful homebirths
1 transport in labour for meconium in amniotic fluid for continuous monitoring and subsequent vaginal delivery in hospital

Planned repeat c-sections: 3
Emergency/non planned c-sections: 9
17.4 % emergency c-section rate
22% homebirth rate
