This is a long one guys but if you’ve ever struggled with your skin it’s worth the read 🤍
A few years ago, I was deep in a fat loss phase. I was weight training 6 days a week, doing HIIT cardio, counting every calorie, loading up on sugar free syrups, sweeteners, thickeners, seed oils… all the low cal things I thought were helping
But actually, they completely RUINED my gut! I had the worst breakouts that showed up on my face, chest/shoulders and a huge rash all over my back.
You guys it was soooo bad 😩
I tried everythingggggg
So many skincare routines, products, treatments and nothing seemed to work, it actually just got worse
Healing took time but every small change added up.
I started focusing on:
- Whole foods, high protein and fibre
- Moving my body without overdoing it (long morning walks & 3 training days instead of 6-7)😬
- Lowering my cortisol levels & prioritizing sleep
- Added in supportive supplements
- Lots of WATERRRRR 💧
And SIMPLIFYING my skincare routine to just a gentle cleanser, hypochlorus acid and moisturizer/spf
Your gut and your skin are deeply connected
When your gut is inflamed or out of balance, it triggers inflammation that shows up through your skin. Acne, redness, irritation, dullness and many more issues
When you nourish your gut and reduce stress, your skin naturally begins to calm and heal
My skin is nowhere near perfect, I still get breakouts here and there but it is a heck of a lot better!!!
