Did you know acupuncture can help with heat? However, prevention is key so Prepare for high temperatures 🌄
A prolonged heat wave will affect the South Coast including Greater Victoria.
Daytime temperatures reaching 29 to 33 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected from now through Wednesday.
Plan to stay cool:
• MOST IMPORTANT: Drink plenty of water even when you don’t feel thirsty;
• Stay in the shade as much as possible;
• Close windows and curtains during the day and open them at night;
• Take a cool shower or bath but not for too long as it can dehydrate your skin. 10mn is a safe bet.
• Identify cool zones inside and outside of homes (like community centres and libraries);
• Apply ice packs and cool, damp cloths to your wrists and neck;
• Wear a hat to protect from sun;
• Use sunscreen if you must be exposed to the sun but remember that sunscreen does NOT protect against heatstroke;
• If able, check on others, especially those who live alone or are most at risk;
• Stay inside an air-conditioned building like a mall if you feel it is too much anytime and reach out for help.
And don't forget to book your appointment to help you cool you off 😎
