It’s a BIG secret and I want to spread it lime wildfire!

A Women’s Movement Group is being re-ignited in Winnipeg and it’s all about YOU, Your Mom and Sisters!!

Soroptimist in the largest global network of volunteers. . . Well of course it is - it’s lead by Women!

We gather and stand for
• gender equality
•propelling women and girls into economic independence
•accelerating women's economic independence!

The approach is simple - through Education!
Why?……
Because education is the fastest route to equality.

Supporting individual women and girls’ education dreams!

We tackle the systemic barriers to education, like violence, period poverty, s*xual exploitation and more.

It is being done all over the world and it’s time for the Heartbeat of Canada to jump in - that is Us here in Centre Court!!!

information:

We have Global standing at the United Nations no less!!!
At the UN we have consultative status and can advocate all things Women! That is VERY important considering gender equality cuts across every issue we face.

One story is that of our “poster woman” for individual empowerment - Dawn Johnson. She was living on the streets, in active addiction, and a survivalist of s*x trafficking and teen parenthood. She always wanted to be a lawyer. Through the help of Soroptimist, she is now clerking at the BC Supreme Court!

Our Central Alberta club advocated so strongly for free period products in schools, that the Province announced they would be rolling it out across all of Alberta. We can now see this movement across all of Canada!

And if thats not enough to excite you….the N & W Vancouver club started the petitions that ultimately led to Canada changing its laws around prostitution to not charge the s*xually exploited women!

So who wants to know more and get on board?

STAND WITH ME
MY INDIGENOUS AUNTY’S!!!

We need to shine light on the bullying, un-compassionate and unreasonable “service” that the HSC is dishing out to community members!

My 19-year old Indigenous, gender-transitioning, Nephew: cold, scared, with mental inabilities ….. THIS IS FOR YOU AND ALL OUR SISTERS, BROTHERS, FRIENDS, and MAD-AUNTY’S!!!

The staff is ignorant
They offer NO help to concerned family members
They offer NO compassion to ppl in their waiting rooms and cant even get a blanket to a cold and frightened 19-yr old with mental issues!!

What the heck is going on at this pathetic excuse for a “wellness” facility???

Who can deny we are social creatures?

We are formed through connection. The most intimate and compassionate act of Love.

Yet we face loneliness and isolation to new heights in this socially, connected and compassionate world.

How can this be?

What can we do to reverse this phenomenon?

We can Act out of love and value to ourselves and those around us.

It seems impossible when the very people who need this slip away and lock 🔒 the door on us.

During those times, we cannot force our intentions as it could perpetuate a further downward spiral 🌀 and disconnect.

It would be great if we could softly reach out and ensure our community stays healthy and protected. ♥️

By completing the development of Safe-T-Peg we can be certain that the strongholds of loneliness and isolation will be broken!

What does Connection mean to you? What definition do you have for it?

Many people immediately think of work relationships and deeping the partnerships with their peers

A lot of people turn it more inward and speak to the family ties and generalltional link to their past and DNA.

Oxford’s definition is: a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else.
"the connections between social attitudes and productivity"

The next time you hear someone studder, or see a person stumble, maybe even someone who appears deep in thought or crying a few tears behind their desk….

Pause a moment and consider do they have an inability to fire on all cylinders? Is there a possibility that a connection has been lost or decreased which presents symptons you may not be 100% familiar with?

Just putting it out there for
Stress Awareness Month, and hoping that all of the above become a part of your definition while expanding compassion and ensuring your connections are strong within YOUR CIRCLE
