BA (Hons.), BEd (Primary), MEd (Counselling), RCC (#13742), Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner Sarah Kinsley teaches in the Integrated Mindfulness Certificate at Royal Roads University, the Certificate of Applied Mindfulness Studies at the University of Toronto and in Mindfulness-Based Teaching and Learning (MBTL) Graduate certificate at the University of Fraser Valley. Concurrently, she serves as a therapist and facilitator in Victoria, BC. Before moving to Victoria, Sarah taught MBCT courses at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies while teaching and coordinating the Embodied Mind stream in the Certificate of Applied Mindfulness Studies at the University of Toronto. Sarah has extensive training in Mindfulness-Based Interventions including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Sarah has trained with Indigenous Elders in the field of healing within Canada and abroad. Sarah has completed four Yoga Teacher Training courses and has studied with various schools in North America and Asia, such as Yoga Vidya Gurukul: Institute for Research and Education in Yoga. She has most recently studied Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Emerson and Bessel van der Kolk. Sarah is the author of Yoga Therapy: Ancient Therapy for Today’s Body, Mind and Spirit, a textbook chapter used in counselling programs throughout North America. Sarah enjoys teaching classes, workshops and retreats combining her passions around the world. Previously, Sarah provided counselling services at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto and was a senior facilitator at Mindfulness Without Borders. She has been a primary school teacher and a Special Education Resource Teacher in Ontario and abroad.
