Three things you should do after your dry eye treatments: wear a protective sleep mask at night, use Thealoz Duo eye drops by Thea Pharma to keep your eyes hydrated, and take omega-3 supplements to support long-term eye health.

And three things to avoid: don’t get eyelash extensions put on right away, don’t sleep with makeup on, and try to avoid excessive alcohol or smoking, as both can make dryness worse. Following these simple tips will help you get the most out of your treatment and keep your eyes comfortable!

Don’t overlook the importance of regular eye exams!

Dry eye can be complex, and what’s happening on the surface might not tell the full story. An eye exam helps uncover what’s really going on and guides the right kind of care.

Not sure whether to use a heat mask or a cold compress? Here’s a simple way to remember:

Heat masks are best for dry eye. The gentle warmth helps unblock the oil glands in your eyelids so your tears stay stable and comfortable.

Cold compresses are best for allergies, puffiness, or irritation. Cooling helps calm swelling, redness, and itchiness around the eyes.

Both can be soothing, but choosing the right one makes all the difference for your symptoms.

Whether or not you’ve had our in-office dry eye treatments, if you’ve been diagnosed with dry eye, it’s important to have a tailored toolkit you can rely on throughout your life. Managing dry eye is ongoing, and these are the essentials we often recommend:

• Dry Eye Treatment Mask – warms the eyelids to unblock the meibomian glands and improve natural tear quality.
• Dry Eye Sleep Mask – protects against drafts and prevents overnight evaporation.
• Blephagel Duo Eye Gel – gently cleanses and soothes irritated lids.
• Thealoz Duo Eye Drops – hydrating drops with antioxidants to protect against oxidative stress.
• Medical-Grade Omega-3 Gel Capsules – support tear film stability and reduce inflammation from within.
• Medical-Grade Omega-3 Liquid Gel – a liquid option for the same eye-healthy benefits.
• Blephaclean Eyelid Wipes – convenient daily wipes to keep eyelids clean and comfortable.

Not every patient will need all of these, but it’s important to follow your optometrist’s recommendations to create the toolkit that’s right for you.

If you have dry eye, regular eye exams are essential.

They help identify underlying causes—like blocked glands or inflammation—that aren’t always obvious. Consistent checkups also ensure your treatment stays on track as symptoms change over time.

Fluorescent lighting may be common in offices, but it can strain your eyes over time. Glare and flicker from bright overhead lights make it harder to focus, leading to discomfort during your workday. Consider softer lighting or adjusting your workspace to protect your vision.
