BC Doctors of Optometry weekend! Dr. Wallace had the opportunity to be on a panel this weekend to share tips and tricks on the eye cream Blephaderm! Dr. Wallace had the opportunity to talk to local optometrists about myopia and different myopia control methods. Did you know that only 23% of children in B.C. between the ages of 5-9 have had an eye exam in the past year!?

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a condition in which a person’s distance vision is blurred. The earlier we catch myopia, the faster we can slow down the rate of change with Myopia control methods, including Ophthalmic lenses, Ortho-K lenses and medicated drops. We can do routine eye exams in kids as young as 6 months and can detect this issue even before they start feeling or showing symptoms!
