Today we celebrate World Sight Day by highlighting the importance of protecting our eyes and vision and bringing awareness to vision impairment and blindness.

This year, we’re drawing attention to children’s eye health including:

- ensuring accessible and affordable eye care for children
- debunk myths regarding vision and moving towards a world where all children are free from social stigma associated with wearing glasses
- educating on how eye health and vision can affect a child’s quality of life

Regular eye exams can help identify issues at an early stage. Start by getting your kids and yourself in for a comprehensive eye exam.

😎 Protect your eyes from the sun - wear glasses and sunglasses with UV400 and a hat to prevent harmful UV rays from reaching your eyes

🚭 Quit smoking or don’t start

🥬 Eat a healthy well-balanced diet full of antioxidants from berries, leafy greens, nuts and beans - lead a healthy lifestyle to avoid the development of systemic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension

🧑‍⚕️ Going for a comprehensive eye exam regularly is important to monitor your overall eye health, including the development and progression of cataracts.
