Tonight is a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn. This New Moon is one of the most significant as it is starting energies for the year ahead and is going to help blow away the cobwebs of 2025 once and for all. 2025 was a year of endings astrologically, which means that 2026 is going to be a year of new beginnings. This death and rebirth cycle is playing out in all of our lives in some way or another and in the coming weeks you will start to feel the “rebirth” occurring. This rebirth energy won’t fully shift into gear until the Full Moon in about 2 weeks, however this New Moon is definitely going to start setting the wheels in motion.

A new cycle is beginning for you. The Capricorn New Moon can empower you to move in a bold direction. You may break free from bad habits and relationships. You are no longer distracted by fear and doubt. You are ready to be who you were born to be. This is a time of great luck, so go out and try new things, use this lucky time to grow businesses, start new jobs, start new education, learn a new skill, find a new love. Change what isn’t working for you. Often when things don’t feel good in our lives we want to change everything all at once, but just take small steps, just change one small thing at time.

Our emotions will be heightened for the next few days and can be confusing, we may be feeling happy and overjoyed one minute, then sad and crying the next. You may have problems sleeping and you may have weird and vivid dreams. Our nerves may be on edge and arguments and misunderstandings could flare up. But don't worry this will pass soon. This is our body, mind and spirit aligning to the transformations happening at the moment as the earth enters the end of winter with the last of the snow storms and cold weather as we look toward Imbolc.

Don't shy away from hard work or challenges right now they can bring big rewards. If you start to see your challenges from a different perspective, you will see your challenges as opportunities for growth, they keep your life fresh and lively. Your life can be much freer than you may have realized. New opportunities will emerge for you. Believe in your dreams coming true. Believe when you wish upon a star your wish will be granted. The star is shining on you right now. The New Moon is opening up a new pathway for you. Perhaps it was there all along and now your eyes are opened and you can see it.

This New Moon will strengthen the impact for change. Don’t allow anything to hold back your dreams and desires. Listen to your intuition, because your intuition is your inner knowledge, allow your higher self to guide you to new starts and goals. Sudden unexpected opportunities can come to you from out of the blue at this time, seize them and make the most of any opportunity that comes your way.

There are new perspectives to be enjoyed now and this New Moon reminds us that no matter how far we may have strayed from where we want to be, we can always get back there as long as there is hope and the will to move and grow.

Capricorn is ruled by the element of earth, use the energy of this New Moon to allow us to plant seeds in the earth to grow over the coming year. 2026 is going to be a challenging but amazing and lucky year with so many blessings and opportunities, so take this moment to enjoy the new vibration and the fresh start that this New Moon offers.

Did someone order a A Particularly Dynamic New Moon from the Cosmic Menu???

Well, this Capricorn New Moon is the whole kit and caboodle for all that and more.

The number of separating aspects suggests things already in play, and waiting for this trigger.

The one applying aspect – to Neptune in the powerful last degree of Pisces – suggests Dreaming Big is an order of this New Moon.

And with Ruler Saturn exacting the longer-term sextile with Retrograde Uranus this week, from Pisces, well, that theme of “Breaking Down The Structures” is well and truly lit – possibly with a surprising twist.

Actually, there’s so much more to that Saturn/Uranus sextile, particularly with Uranus now Stationing to Direct. There’s a potent surge of electricity and breakthrough connected to this energy, which re-directs into the New Moon – so maybe, even if you thought you knew what you wanted out of 2026, here now is an opportunity to think again, or reinforce those intentions from a different angle.

A super powerful New Moon, planting intentions firmly into the soft earth of Capricorn, before the procession of Personal Planets follows the path that Venus has already forged, into Aquarius. And Board Room Meetings with Pluto.

And finally …
Hold onto your hats, your pants, and anything else you care to grab onto Sparklers – the energy of this week and particularly the first few days is insane. Insane!!! Well, as insane as energy emanating primarily from staid & stable Capricorn can be, before we get a wild twist of Aquarius energy also thrown in for good measure!!

This week, our Procession of Personal Planets continues on through Capricorn – remembering, this is pretty much how we have started 2026 – and in amongst that continued procession are more triggers to Saturn (Foundations), Uranus (Change) and Neptune (Dreams), before one by one, our Personal Planets find themselves joining Venus in Aquarius – and suddenly, the vibe is very, very different.

Very Different In A Don’t Tell Me What To … Feel (Moon) / Think (Mercury) / Want (Venus) / Do (Mars) – and in the case of the Sun / Be. Don’t Tell Me What – or Who – To Be. !!!

And be warned, after the (what did I say above?) Staid & Stable environs of Capricorn – this avalanche of new energy emanating from Aquarius could be a little confronting (or cause confrontations) before we all collectively adjust our pants, and get on with it.

Two side notes for consideration. Actually, both are big considerations.

Firstly, Aquarius has two rulers – Saturn (Traditional) and Uranus (Modern). And this week, these two co-rulers of the Sign that will host all of our personal planets, are in exact sextile with each other. I wrote about it above, take a moment to digest that again, now taking into account how this energy will influence the energies of the Moon, the Sun, Mercury, Venus & Mars. The timing is no co-incidence.

And then there’s our second big consideration – that each of these Planets will meet Powerful Pluto in the 4th Degree of Aquarius, through the next 10 days.

It’s actually quite a while since Pluto has featured in any general cosmic activity – but this week and next, the themes of Transformation, Destruction & Evolution will be right in our faces, before ‘things’ normalise once again. OK, it’s Aquarius overload, normalise is probably not the right word – but you get my drift.

And the biggest of these meetings, as always, is the Sun/Pluto conjunction, which happens on Friday.

Now technically, the Sun is in Detriment in Aquarius, as it’s in the Sign opposite the one it Rules (Leo) – which means that our core energy may be lacking in some vitality, or simply, it takes more effort to just being.

But with the added infusion of that Saturn/Uranus sextile into both planets, well, two words come to mind.

Game. Changer.

A very auspicious couple of weeks ahead, Sparklers. But we all need to use this energy wisely vs Too Big For Your Britches Syndrome. Park the egos, keep that in your back pocket, and the next couple of weeks could, indeed, be most Game Changer.

Two more things to highlight.

Pay attention to those lightbulb moments during the Mercury Cazimi mid-week. I’ll post dates/times tomorrow – remembering that Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, this could turn out to be quite the ‘breakthrough’ Mercury (communications, thinking, discussions, perspectives) Cazimi indeed.

And of other note – and it’s a pretty big ‘of other note’ – this is the final full week we will have Neptune in Pisces. I was going to use the word ‘enjoy’ in there somewhere – but so many of you have mentioned that you can’t wait to see the back of this energy that I’m leaving you to use your verb of choice. While I look wistfully on 🥺
