This exercise might look simple, but it matters more than you think 👀

A single leg depth drop trains your ankle to catch and control your body as you land. Since the ankle is the first joint to hit the ground, strength and quick reactions here help absorb impact and reduce unnecessary stress on the knee and hip.

It also builds confidence for jumping, cutting, and changing direction 💪

I did goblet squats for 30 days and here’s what I didn’t expect. It wasn’t just “stronger legs.” Daily life felt easier.

Getting up from the couch took less effort. Picking things up from the floor felt more controlled. My balance felt steadier, stairs felt less tiring on my knees, and my back felt more supported when bending. The biggest change was the confidence. I moved without that little hesitation.

For someone in their 50s or 60s, this kind of movement practice changes a lot more than strength. The goblet squat trains the same pattern we use for sitting, standing, and lifting, so it carries over quickly.
