KMC Victoria (formerly Bodhichitta Buddhist Centre) is a non-profit organization based in Victoria, BC, offering classes at various locations around Vancouver Island. We provide opportunities for people to meditate, listen to Buddha's teachings and engage in Buddhist study programs, all under the guidance of a qualified meditation teacher. We are a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union.

This half-day course provides a practical introduction to the practice of meditation. It will include explanations of the basic practices of Buddhist meditation, as well as the experience of three different guided meditations and time to answer your questions.
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort and so we will experience true happiness and relaxation.

In this series of 6 classes, we will look at how Buddhist meditation can eliminate stress and help us become more relaxed, peaceful and positive in our daily life. By understanding Buddha’s teachings on the mind, we can learn to face life’s adversities with a happy heart, deal with ‘difficult people’ without getting angry and transform hardships into opportunities for spiritual growth.
