It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Junie Swadron.

Junie’s boundless love, compassion, and joy touched countless lives. She had a gift for helping people find their voice, their courage, and their light . Junie’s presence will continue to be felt in every story we tell and every heart she touched.

Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many friends who supported Junie along her journey, and especially to the compassionate staff at Victoria Hospice who cared for her so lovingly, so gently, and so respectfully in her final days.

Junie’s funeral will be held on Friday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the Jewish Cemetery, 2750 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria. All who wish to honour and celebrate her life are warmly invited.

We are in the final stretch of Junie’s journey. She is slowing down now, yet her spirit and gratitude continue to shine. Surrounded by compassionate hospice staff and loved ones, she continues to meet each moment with grace and love.

During this tender time, we invite you to hold Junie and her family in your hearts — through prayers, loving thoughts, or simply pausing to send her light. Your presence, even from afar, means so much.

One of Junie’s deepest wishes is to complete her final book. With the help of a dear friend, she has nearly completed her masterwork— a piece of her legacy she hopes will reach the world, either now or after her passing.

An Update from Hospice

Our precious Junie is holding court at Victoria Hospice. Though her body is becoming weaker, her pain is well managed thanks to the extraordinary care of the compassionate, kind, and loving hospice staff. Junie has often expressed her gratitude for being there.

Her sharp mind and vibrant spirit continue to shine through. Visits bring her so much joy — though she tires easily, she thrives on those connections. She is even working with a dear friend to finish her latest book, a project close to her heart.

She also loves reading, or being read to, from the beautiful messages you’ve been sending. Please know how much your words, your love, and your support are carrying her in this tender chapter.
