I built my practice around the concept of wanting to help people feel what it is like to embrace health in a natural and holistic way. I want to show my patients you do not have to live your life in pain, stressed or sick. Acupuncture will help your body function at maximum capacity so it begins to heal itself and work in a more optimal way you likely never realized was possible. I pride myself in delivering gentle treatments in a relaxing and comfortable environment. My patients experience is of the utmost importance and most people walk out in a state of relaxation and bliss, as if spending their time in a spa. Dear valued clients,

We’re dedicated to your wellness journey and committed to providing the highest quality care at Nurture and Flo. To maintain this standard, we need to make some adjustments to our pricing, effective in the coming months. These changes align with local industry rates and account for increased operational costs.

✨ Acupuncture Price Adjustment: Starting February 1st, acupuncture treatments with Sasha Ormiston R.Ac and Stephanie Doerksen R.Ac will increase by approximately 10%. This adjustment allows us to continue offering you top-tier acupuncture services.

✨ New Rates for Compassionate Inquiry: From March 1st, Stephanie Doerksen R.Ac will be offering 60-minute Compassionate Inquiry sessions at $130 and 90-minute combined Acupuncture and Compassionate Inquiry sessions at $170. These new rates reflect the value and depth of these holistic services.

* Please note that all other services at Nurture and Flo will remain at their current rates.

Hi!! It's Me!!! New gorgeous photos from .studios make for the perfect opportunity to reintroduce myself here.

I am a mother of two cool little humans, Florence and Boden (Flo + Bo....yes that was on purpose) who will be 4 and 7 this Fall and a fur baby doggo named Jersey. My husband and I met when we were 17/18 years old almost 19 years ago and are coming up on our 10th wedding anniversary last year. I feel pretty lucky to have met my best friend and other half so early in my adventure of life.

I am a Registered Acupuncturist and the owner of Wellness Clinic. I have been in practice for over 11 years and am so grateful for the community I have built working with the best patients and practitioners. My favourite areas of practice are:

- Hormonal and menstrual balance

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers out there! Today, we celebrate the immense love, care, and sacrifices that you make for your children every day. Your dedication and commitment to your children are truly inspiring and deserving of all the praise and recognition.

To all those who have taken on mother roles, including stepmothers, adoptive mothers, father’s in two roles and those who have chosen to be mother figures to children who aren't their own, you are a shining example of selflessness and love.

On this special day, we must also acknowledge those who may be finding today difficult due to various reasons. For those who have lost their mothers or are estranged from them, I send my heartfelt condolences and hope that you find comfort in the memories you shared.

For those who are struggling with fertility or facing challenges on the path to motherhood, please know that you are not alone. You are strong and brave, and your journey is valid, no matter what it looks like.

To all the mothers who have lost a child or are raising a child with unique needs, your strength and resilience are truly awe-inspiring. Your unwavering love and dedication to your children are a testament to the incredible power of a mother's love.

Microneedling is here!!!!!

SkinPen® microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that helps minimize the signs of aging, improve the appearance of acne scars and rejuvenate skin. The SkinPen® microneedling device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. The micro-injuries trigger the release of cytokines and growth factors that lead to remodeling of collagen and elastin.

Microneedling is adored for its ability to improve skin texture while reducing fine lines, wrinkles and even enlarged pores. It improves the appearance of acne scarring and can help to balance pigmentation conditions ie. melasma. It can also be used to reduce the appearance surgical scars and stretch marks.

So what does the treatment entail you ask??! When you arrive to the clinic we will get you on the table and start applying the numbing cream which needs to sit for 30 minutes. While applying we will chat about your skin goals, current health and wellness concerns and expectations with treatment. Then we will do a body acupuncture treatment to address those concerns and allow you to relax while the numbing finishes its job. Afterwards we remove the needles, and numbing cream. We then wash and sanitize the treatment area before starting the microneedling which will typically take only 20-30 minutes. The entire duration of the treatment is approximately 75-90 minutes. After the treatment you will be provided with topicals to use for the next 48 hours and then you can typically resume your regular routine. Post treatment you will experience redness and possibly swelling, itching or flaking for a few days, but the minimal downtime and amazing results is why this treatment is a crowd favourite!!

Best part, if you have extended benefits you can claim the acupuncture portion of the treatment of $100-$125.

My December schedule is officially fully booked but my waitlist is still open! Cancellations happen this time of year, so if you are hoping to get in before 2022 expires then the waitlist is your best shot.

My schedule tends to fill up a few weeks in advance, and some treatments are only available months in advance. If you have been waiting to get in for an Acupuncture Spa Facial or any treatment now is the time to get pre-booked and locked for the Spring.
I have also reopened my schedule for a few more new clients so if you have been thinking about working together now is your chance. I am not sure how long until I am taking a waitlist again!

Evening appointments will go quickly online but as I offer overlapping appointments there are usually more spots than what you see. If you don't see availability where you hoped, please send me an email or add yourself to the waitlist for the day and time and there is usually a good chance something may still be available.

If you have any questions about recommended scheduling feel free to reach out to me. In general most folks who are on a routine treatment plan of maintenance are coming every 4-8 weeks. For my pregnant folks the same every 4 - 8 weeks and then weekly at 36 weeks is recommended.For hormonal concerns or fertility support at least every 4 weeks but weekly sessions for 3 months is best. Lastly if you wish to start a cosmetic series, now is a great time to book for availability. Gold standard is 10-12 sessions in 6-8 weeks for ultimate results.

September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. A day to recognize the residential school survivors, the trauma that these systems created, how they still affect Indigenous Peoples and communities, as well as honouring the lives of those who did not return or were lost since.

Myself and my fellow practitioners at Nurture and Flo provide care and services on the unceded, traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Esquimalt, and Songhees) nations. Although continuing to provide care tomorrow, we will be reflecting on this part of our history and taking action in meaningful ways. Below are some resources and actions you can take as well. Lastly I will be donating $400 to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) on behalf of the clinic and if you wish to donate as well the link is in our bios.

Please take tomorrow to reflect, learn and advocate about reconciliation and what it means to those around us, and carry that knowledge and awareness into your life moving forward each day. As settlers on this stolen land, to be a real ally, we need to be listening, advocating and continually working to move forward in an impactful and compassionate way.

New Client Waitlist - I have decided to close my online schedule to new clients and start taking a new client waitlist for those folks interested in coming to see me. Although a bit scary to limit new growth it feels really good to be able to focus availability on the clients already in my care. After I opened my schedule for the remainder of the year I was so humbled by how quickly spots filled up - I am so grateful for this community.

With cancellations and cold/flu season ahead it is likely spots will open for those folks waiting so it is well worth adding yourself to the list. For those looking for more urgent support we have an incredible team to cover the needs of all the clients coming in to see me for anything I tend to focus in. Both .ameliapatillo and Stephanie Doerksen are taking new acupuncture clients in all areas of concern. For my facial acu folks Dr.Patillo has amazing skills and extensive knowledge! Did you know that all of my facial acupuncture treatments now include the option of using the Celluma LED light within your treatment or it can be added to most regular acupuncture treatments for an additional fee.

The Celluma FACE utilizes red, blue and infra-red wavelengths in varying degrees depending on the setting and patient needs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The different colour wavelengths pe*****te the skin at different depths which support their actions. Red wavelengths (penetrating the deepest) enhance your body's natural ability to generate collagen and elastin by activating fibroblast cells as well as increases blood flow. Infra-red also enhances your bodies natural healing abilities which is great for healing any acne wounds, skin inflammation etc. Blue wavelengths (penetrating the most superficial) work by killing acne-causing bacteria, decreasing inflammation and in doing so can help improve skin tone.
