I Should have sent this earlier as it has been a busy few weeks with gardening injuries. Make sure to keep your back straight, keep things close to your body and lift with your legs. Here are a few examples of do's and don'ts. Happy gardening!

Over the past year and a half I have been working on my Diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology. It’s a program that involves 300 hours of continuing education completed in modules. Recently I completed the course on Vertigo and dizziness. It involved learning the Dix-Hallpike test for assessment and the Epley maneuver for treatment. I have now been performing this treatment at my clinic. The treatment doesn’t work for all vertigo but is effective for BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)

It's Spring and everyone seems to be getting active, hiking, gardening, etc. Just a reminder that with increased activity we are seeing more injuries. Keep stretching and watching how you lift!
Here is a picture of me and my hiking partner.

I thought I would put a little information on this page about what an adjustment is. I had a patient recently that said "I love the adjustments but how many times can you do that before the bone breaks?" Ouch! An adjustment is not "cracking" the bones or putting a bone back in place. The bones don't slip out of alignment. An adjustment is simply taking a restricted joint and moving it, normalizing its mobility is the goal. When it moves air is released and can make a "pop" sound. Muscles relax around the joint which decreases inflammation and eliminates pain. Long terms studies show adjustments to be beneficial to the spine and overall health. That's it, hope that's helpful.

Does your job find you sitting most of the day? While sitting can seem restful, keep in mind that staying in any one position for long periods of time can cause strain and injury to your muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments.
