The Smart Sip Cream Co. CEO I’m Sask born & raised 🌾 currently living on Vancouver Island📍 This is why I created Smart Sip.

I’m Ashlyn 👋 a 🇨🇦 nutrition coach who has helped 700+ people reach their health & weight loss goals as well as the founder of Smart Sip Cream Co., my calorie-friendly, fiber-rich creamer. As a nutrition coach who has helped more that 700 people reach their health and weight loss goals over the last 8 years, I saw a hole in the food & beverage industry for simple, fiber-rich foods to help people reach their fiber goals. Smart Sip is a calorie-friendly, fiber-rich coconut oil powdered creamer that was designed to help people reach their goals. More than 90% of people don’t get enough fiber in and that plays a huge role in their health and weight loss goals. Sugary drinks that people consume leave them crashed out, struggling with their energy levels and elevating their hunger. She wanted to create a product that still gave them that delicious drink without all of the nasty side-effects. Smart Sip can be enjoyed in coffee, tea, smoothies, shakes, yogurt, pancake & waffle mix, Creamis, ice cream or pudding so you can reap it's benefits even if you aren't a coffee drinker.

I’ve always said I got that entrepreneurial bug in me from my dad. In my 20’s I convinced my parents to open a clothing store with. We all lost money, them more so than me and it’s still a sore spot with me.

I immediately went back to working a 9-5 after we closed the doors. After a year or so of that I realized I liked working for myself so I had gained enough courage to try it again. I got my mortgage broker’s license and got my confidence back. I won the Rookie of the Year award and loved being back in charge of my destiny.
I then started my passion project which was health and fitness. That little side hustle that brought me joy soon turned into a six-figure business. I had my shine back and a love for what I was doing.
Which is how Smart Sip was created. I saw my nutrition clients struggling with their fiber intake and wanting deliciously indulgent drinks without blowing their calorie budget. So I came up with a super-convenient shelf stable product they can take with them anywhere, have that yummy creamy drink while it still being calorie-friendly and sneak some fiber into their diet.
Imagine if I had kept my tail between my legs after that first failed business and never went at it on my own?!

It’s the end of an era! As Smart Sip continues to grow, I’m wrapping up with my last couple nutrition clients. I had already started to shut thesweateffect.com website down when numerous people reached out about wanting access to my healthy recipes. It costs me over $100 annually to host my domain (for its content management system, webhosting and domain name registration) so for $15/year im giving people password access to the recipes page and they can still have access to it. And that was how Smart Sip was born!

I wanted a super convenient product that was going to help people reach their goals no matter where they are.

If you’re not at home, your digestion is going to be off eating foods you aren’t typically used to so this was a way to help people get some fiber in all while having something creamy and delicious that they actually like the taste of.

And to all my black coffee drinkers… don’t judge it till you’ve tried it 😉 I’ve converted more people than you’d think!

The prep and clean up of doing Smart Sip samples at markets is definitely my least favorite part 😩

But in order for people to be able to taste how delicious it is, I need to be giving out coffee and tea samples for them to try.

Things I’ve learned:
-only serve decaf. This way it doesn’t matter what time of day it is or if someone is caffeine sensitive, they can still have a sample.
-pour and hand out the samples yourself. This stops people from being greedy and drinking all your product (trust me, they’ll keep coming back for more without ever having the intention to support you if you don’t).
-don’t just stand there - ask everyone who’s passing by if they’d like a free sample! Most people won’t just stop, sometimes they don’t know what it is or they feel awkward if you don’t ask them first.
-people will be rude. We live in a weird world these days. And I’m just a gal out here handing out free samples 🤷‍♀️
