At 92, Roslyn, a resident at Atria Tarzana, still arrives early for her hospital volunteer shifts, bright blue jacket on, ready to help. For 13 years, she’s delivered flowers, transported patients and run errands with a smile. Beyond the tasks, she’s built friendships and found purpose that keep her energized in retirement.

At Atria Forest Hills, there is an extraordinary culinary duo leading the kitchen. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

The Director of Culinary Services, Stacey, and Cook, Javier, bring passion and creativity to every dish – from Chicken Florentine to resident favorites like meatballs and tiramisu. Stacey followed her dream of becoming a chef after studying nursing, and Javier finds joy in crafting meals from scratch and seeing residents’ smiles in return. "I really find fulfillment from positive feedback, especially from residents," Javier says.

We celebrate Stacey, Javier and all of our awesome culinary teams for the flavor, care and heart they bring to our communities every day.

Our 50s Dance Party with The Meridian Band was a huge hit! Residents dressed up, danced to classic 50s tunes, showed off their best Elvis moves, and cooled off with ice cream on the patio. 🍦🎶 Thanks to everyone who joined us for this blast from the past! ❤️

Memory care residents at Atria Newport Beach had a great time making no bake mini cinnamon rolls. "They were easy to make, smelled absolutely delicious and were very tasty," reported Lucia, the community's Memory Care Director.

Residents from Atria Lincoln Place stretched and smiled alongside the adorable animals at Roots Heaven Farm.

Mel, one of the residents who attended, even came decked out in her farm finery – a pink cowgirl hat.

Christopher and his team whipped up made-to-order omelets for the community's memory care neighborhood, making sure each resident got their favorite ingredients and some face time with the chef.

We know it's the little things that can make all the difference.

Javon, Resident Services Assistant at Atria Park of Ann Arbor, was awarded "Employee of the Month" for always going above and beyond for residents. His fellow teammates appreciate that he goes out of his way to make sure residents feel their best, and does it all with a smile.

Recently, he assisted Lorna to dinner and realized something wasn't quite right. "She always likes to wear her earrings and look her best," he shares. "So I went back to get them for her. She needed those earrings to feel like herself!"

For this month's edition of our Great Outdoors social series, we brought the beauty of nature right to our community. Residents enjoyed a special Happy Hour with ponies, got up close with a little wildlife fun, and savored delicious campfire inspired treats. 💚

This week, our residents got hands on with a fun arts and crafts project - making foam trees decorated with beautiful sea glass and charming details. Each tree is unique as its creator, and we loved seeing the joy and conversations during our crafting time! 💚

Yesterday we had a very exciting “Chef Showdown”!!
One of our residents graciously shared her delicious crepe recipe with us, and we challenged our very own Chef to create his own- and compete!
We brought the festivities outside, where we watched our executive Chef Reda cook both recipes and serve them right before our eyes!
Thank you to everyone who attended, and big Congratulations to our resident, Michelle, who won the recipe contest!

This month we enjoyed one of our Happy Hour parties with our adorable furry friends and family!
“Whiskers and Wags” was our special happy hour event in June, where we had a very fun and colourful fashion show, featuring our furry friends and owners.
We enjoyed a beautiful display of snacks made by our executive Chef Reda, as well as a feature happy hour cocktail - a Labrador!

Amazing opportunities always find their way to The Victorian at McKenzie!
We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Nolan Beise, founder and CEO of Circl.
Dr. Nolan gave our residents an in-depth info seminar on the importance of brain health and cognitive function in aging. He has invented a device used to detect early stages of cognitive decline. This tool makes it easier to learn more about yourself and prevent (or lesson the symptoms of) many age-related cognitive diseases such as Alzheimer's or Dementia.

We had a fantastic experience at the B.C. Aviation Museum yesterday! With highlights on the retired Mars Water Bomber, our residents also got to learn about aviation through the years, and what could be possible for the future! After our private museum tour, we enjoyed lunch at the Spitfire Grill!
