Please note! If your referral is complete and already and at GRS Montreal this does not affect your process!

From Transcare BC Email (January 14, 2026):

"What’s changing:
As of April 1, 2026, MSP-funded gender-affirming lower surgeries will no longer be available at GRS Montreal. These surgeries will continue to be offered through the Gender Surgery Program BC (GSPBC) at Vancouver General Hospital.

Background: For over 30 years residents seeking gender-affirming lower surgeries traveled to Montreal for these surgeries because it was the only clinic in Canada offering them. Since 2019, GSPBC has provided these surgeries closer to home for transgender, Two-Spirit, and non-binary people in B.C.

Until now, B.C. has funded gender-affirming lower surgeries at GRS Montreal, even though provincial guidelines prioritize care within B.C. when available. This update ensures gender-affirming lower surgeries follow the same policy as all other surgeries in the province."

I wanted to share this to folks who have been considering GRS Montreal as an option for their surgery. If you begin the process and complete it by March 31st, 2026 you would still be eligible to travel to Montreal if that is your preference.

❤️ Someone you love is a Se× Worker ❤️

December 17th marks Red Umbrella Day, the day to come together with community for se×worker rights, safety, and dignity, advocating for an end to stigma, discrimination, and violence often fueled by criminalization.

Tomorrow is Trans Day of Remembrance

If you'd like to move your emotion with community, and collectively grieve those we've lost in the past year to ongoing transphobia this event is tonight 🏳️‍⚧️🩷

You may or may not have heard that is in need of funding to continue their services and programming. Ideal healthcare is wrap around care so that it's more accessible. Especially with the system crumbling all around us it would be devastating to see ISH cease to exist (not the kind of haunted house I'm hoping to see). Community Care is needed more than ever

I will be donating a percentage of each appointment I have in November to their GoFundMe. I've even opened up an extra day of seeing clients so check it out!

The link in is my bio if you want to support the GoFundMe yourself 💖

💙🤍💗

If your heart is heavy today you are not alone.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was k*lled in 1998. This began an important annual recognition of those we have lost to transphobic violence around the world.

Please consider lighting a candle and holding the international trans* community close to your heart.

Trans people have ALWAYS been here. Folks stepping into their authenticity is so courageous, especially with the climate of cisnormativity and misinformation regarding trans folks and their healthcare.

Reminder: when someone lets you into knowing them on a deeper level, that is a huge privilege. Using that knowledge against them is harmful and absolutely disrespectful.

I love you, I see you, your safety matters.

💗🤍💙

This post is an ode to rest 🩵

Autumn is the transition into Nature's rest phase. We are all part of nature, inherently connected. For some of us, rest is something that has to be prioritized in order to be sustained in this busy busy life. But nothing grows 100% of the time, nothing goes full speed 24 hours a day.

Self improvement culture, hustle culture, capitalism, all benefit from the negative narrative that has shaped a lot of how adults see any amount of spaciousness in their schedule. Rest doesn't have to look like a nap it can look like creativity, flow states, nutrition breaks, mindfulness, meditation, stillness.

There is no prerequisite required to access rest. You just being here is enough.

In 2021 a Disability Pride Flag was made and I shed a tear when I came across it because of how important this representation is.

"💚 Green is for sensory disabilities
💙 Blue represents emotional and psychiatric disabilities
🤍 White stands for non-visible and undiagnosed disabilities
💛 Gold is for neurodiversity
❤️ Red represents physical disabilities.
🖤 The stripes are displayed on a faded charcoal black background which commemorates and mourns disabled people who’ve died due to ableism, violence, negligence, su***de, rebellion, illness and eugenics. The dark background also represents rage and protest against the mistreatment of the disabled community."
