My Story.
Hello,
My name is Lacy and I am a Registered Acupuncturist (RAc) and Graduate of the Diploma of Acupuncture program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria. I also have an Undergraduate Degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary and have worked for 8 years as a Rehabilitation Assistant providing physiotherapy and occupational therapy in hospitals. My experience working hands-on with individuals recovering from traumatic injuries, as well as advanced medical and neurological conditions transfers to the acupuncture table. My interests are in digestive & emotional health, chronic pain, and neurological recovery. I am offering traditional, scalp, and orthopedic needling techniques along with cupping, guasha, and the Chinese massage known as Tui Na.
I became passionate about acupuncture and Chinese medicine after my own experience of using them to treat my Crohn's disease, which I have now been thriving with for the past 5 years. As I learned about Chinese medicine's theory of emotional states and their ability to affect physical states of being, I realized acupuncture was finally the tool I needed to approach the body as a whole in order to help myself and others. In my free time, I strive for balance in life by spending as much time outside camping, rock climbing, hiking, or just laughing with friends by the ocean. I am grateful to live on the west coast and excited to have the opportunity to serve such a wonderful community.
