✨ Massage Therapy is so much more than people realize. ✨
To become a Registered Massage Therapist, we complete thousands of hours of education, including:
✔️ Anatomy & physiology
✔️ Pathology (understanding diseases & conditions)
✔️ Orthopedic assessment
✔️ Treatment planning & therapeutic techniques
✔️ Professional ethics & standards of practice
We also do hands-on clinical training with real clients before graduating and must pass multiple exams to become licensed.
And it doesn’t stop there — RMTs are required to keep learning through continuing education every year. Courses, workshops, and advanced training help us stay up to date with new research and treatment techniques.
So while jokes like “you just rub people all day” might sound lighthearted, they can take away from the years of education and ongoing commitment that go into this career.
Massage Therapy is real healthcare. It’s about pain relief, injury recovery, stress reduction, mobility, and improving quality of life. 💚
I’m proud of what I do and grateful every day to my clients for trusting me and supporting the work I love. Thank you for respecting this profession as much as I do. 🫶
