Peter Dawson Lodge The Peter Dawson Lodge is a Senior Citizen’s housing community in Vulcan. To offer an enhanced quality of life in conjunction with other community services.

Mission Statement:
To provide accommodation in a home-like atmosphere to functionally independent senior citizens. To promote leisure, recreation, social activities, independence and involvement in family and community life. Lodge Services:
The Peter Dawson Lodge offers room and board service to functionally independent Seniors. Service includes:

Furnishings: Basic room furnishings are provided as well as window coverings, linens and towels. Housekeeping: Rooms are dusted, vacuumed and cleaned by regular housekeeping staff on a weekly basis. Meals: The Lodge follows a six week rotating menu which has been approved by a certified dietician. We take pride in our home cooked meals. Family and friends are invited to attend meals. Laundry Service: All residents are free to wash their personal laundry in the resident laundry room. In the case where a resident does not wish to do his/her own laundry, the lodge provides a laundry service. Medication Assistance: The Lodge administers a Medication Assistance Program in consultation with local Physicians and Pharmacies. Maintenance: The Lodge has a full-time maintenance person to take care of any necessary repairs and maintenance from plumbing and heating problems to hanging pictures and accessories. Hair Care: A private hairdresser comes in to the Lodge and provides hair service to the Residents (women and men). Medical Service: Medical services are available through Home Care. This service includes assisted bathing, regular visits from a health nurse and monthly blood pressure clinics. In addition, a foot doctor and hearing aid specialist make regular visits to the Lodge. Storage: Locker storage is available however it is somewhat limited. Office and Mail Service: All residents are issued a Post Office box. Mail is picked up daily at the Vulcan Post Office and sorted into Residents mail boxes. Out-going mail is delivered to the Vulcan Post Office on a daily basis. Recreation: The Lodge provides a wide range of life enrichment activities to enhance the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual needs of Lodge residents. Resident’s Council: Lodge residents have the opportunity to participate in the Resident’s Council. Meetings take place the 1st Tuesday of each month. Council is involved in fundraising, Lodge and community issues and often have guest speakers. Security: The Lodge has non-medical staff on duty 24 hours per day. Parking: Parking with plug-ins is available to Lodge Residents.

As of today, unfortunately we had to make the decision to POSTPONE this event.

We have a new date for our Fall Harvest Tea and Pie Event:

October 10, 2025

You can still get your baking before Thanksgiving!! You can check out our craft supply and fabric and mini garage sale tables on this new date.

We will reach out to all that have previously reserved seats for the Sept 23rd date to make the adjustment to October 10th. Additional reservations will be welcome by October 6th for the Tea only.
We are having 2 seatings for the Tea and Pie on Oct 10th ; 2pm and 3pm to accommodate the fantastic number of reservations we have taken already, please advise in rsvp either 2pm or 3pm seating. Entrance for our Tea and Pie is by donation.

Please note also, the bake sale table, craft supply and mini misc. garage sale tables will be on as long as items are available throughout the day until 4pm only. No need to rsvp for this part of our day, please come look.

Cookbooks are available, those pre-ordered for Sept 23rd can still pick up that day, or on October 10th. If we run out of current prints, we will have an oder sheet available.
