Fishing Lake First Nation Ice Fishing Derby โ€“ Workers Needed!๐ŸŽฃ

We are looking for worders for the Fishing Lake First Nation Ice Fishing Derby taking place on February 21, 2026.

If youโ€™re interested in working the event, please comment under the sign-up sheet with where you would like to work (general help, security, set-up/take-down, cleaning crew, etc.).

๐Ÿ“ Paper sign-up sheets are also available at the Band Office for anyone who would like to work but prefers to sign up in person.

Fishing Lake First Nation Community Development is accepting applications for the following grants:

๐Ÿ’ผ Small Business Grant
โ€ข Up to $5,000
โ€ข Available once every 5 years

๐Ÿงพ Micro-Business Grant
โ€ข Up to $1,000
โ€ข Available once per year

Who Can Apply

โœ… FLFN Members 18 years and older
โœ… Members starting, acquiring, or expanding a business

Important Application Information

๐Ÿ“„ To be considered for approval, applications must be submitted complete with all required documents. All requirement are located on the first page of the applications.

๐Ÿ—“ Application Deadline: March 31st

Micro-Business Grant Selection Criteria
โ€ข Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received a Micro-Business Grant
โ€ข Members who are re-applying must have submitted all required receipts from their previously approved Micro-Business Grant to be considered eligible for selection

Small Business Grant Review Process
โ€ข Small Business Grant applications will be reviewed by an independent third party
โ€ข Applicants will receive feedback following the review process

All registered FLFN members are welcome to participate!

๐ŸŽ The first 300 people registered will receive a toque and gloves.

๐Ÿ“Œ Important Rules:
โ€ข If a participant is not present, the prize will be redrawn.
โ€ข Holes will not be permitted to be drilled after 12:00 PM.
โ€ข Fishing rods will NOT be supplied. Participants must bring their own.

โœˆ๏ธ OFF-RESERVE TRAVEL SUPPORT
One-time travel support is available through Community Development for members attending this on-reserve event.

Please note:
โ€ข Travel support is one event per household per fiscal year, and will be available for pick up the date of the event.
โ€ข If your household has already accessed travel support this fiscal year, you will be ineligible.
โ€ข The fiscal year runs April 1 โ€“ March 31
