🌊 YOUTH LIFEGUARD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 🌊
Looking for something meaningful for your teen this summer?

The Wadena Aquatic Centre is starting a small Youth Lifeguard Development Program for youth interested in building confidence, responsibility, leadership skills, and future employment opportunities.

Participants may have the opportunity to complete:
🏅 Bronze Star
🏅 Bronze Medallion
🏅 Bronze Cross

through the program at reduced or no cost.

This program is ideal for teens who:
✔ Enjoy swimming
✔ Want to gain real-life lifesaving skills
✔ Are looking for volunteer or work experience
✔ May want to work as a lifeguard in the future
✔ Want to build confidence and leadership abilities

Parents — this is a great opportunity for youth to:
• Learn responsibility and teamwork
• Develop strong first aid and safety skills
• Gain certifications that can lead to future employment
• Stay active and involved in the community

Program spots will be limited to keep training hands-on and supportive.

PLEASE BE ADVISED:

Due to the excessive moisture the area has received, the water table is currently very high. As a result, groundwater infiltration is placing additional strain on the sewer pumps at the Town’s lift station.

The Town is again asking residents to conserve water wherever possible to help allow the pumps to catch up and continue operating effectively.

Residents who have sump pumps draining into the sewer system are asked to redirect them, where possible, to drain toward the street side of their property.

This request is in effect until further notice.
