Sorry to post twice in one day, but we thought it important. Please take medical advice from medical professionals and not politicians. The information surrounding tylenol and linking it to autism has not been proven at all. If you have questions please ask those clinicians looking after you and your baby.

We have worked hard as a clinic to reduce waiting times for our patients. Currently it is 2 weeks or less to see us. We would respectfully remind our patients to please attend on time for your appointment. We cannot guarantee you will be seen if you attend late for your allotted 10 minutes.
We would also remind those patients who repeatedly do not attend their appointments without notice, or persistently attend late for their appointments, that potentially we may ask them to seek medical care elsewhere. The impact of late attendance or non attendance is unfair to other patients.

07/07/2025

To accomodate staff vacation and training the clinic will be closed from 31st july through 2nd september. Current wait times for appointments are - Dr I Turner 1-2 days, Dr S Turner 2-3 weeks. Please look to see you you may need refills during that time. During this period of time results will continue to be monitored and acted upon accordingly. If you have any urgent medical concerns please go to the nearest ER.

We wanted to make a post about measles. This disease has largely been well controlled over the past several decades as a consequence of an effective and efficient vaccination programme.

Recently due to incorrect information being repeated some parents are now choosing to not immunise their children. This has now lead to a rise in measles infections accross Alberta. This is leading to serious illness and in some case death. Measles is not a harmless condition, it can cause serious brain infections which can lead to serious long term health issues and some times death.

Prior to the immunization programme measles caused the death of millions of people. The vaccination programme has saved many lives and is widely acknowledged as safe and effective. Other than the risk of anaphylaxis (1-3.5 per million doses) the risk of the vaccine is tiny, whereas the risk of encephalitis (infection of the brain) is roughly 1 in 1000, where 10-15% of these patients will die and a further 25% will be left with serious long term brain injury.

The message here is simple. Vaccinate. If you have questions about the vaccine speak to a health professional. Speak to us, or public health. Any reported evidence linking measles vaccination to austism has been scientifically proven to wrong, and the authors of those studies have been stripped of their medical licenses. Measles is dangerous.

Important Notice

There are important changes coming April 1st 2025. With a change in the way the Government is resourcing Family Medicine we will no longer be offering 15 minute routine appointments. A regular appointment will be 10 minutes long. This will mean that there will be more appointments available but there will be less time to deal with your issues. It will be very difficult to deal with more than one issue per appointment. For multiple issues you will need to book multiple appointments.
