As of Mar 27, 2025 – there are 3 confirmed cases of measles that have been identified in the province.

What you need to know:

- Measles is a Viral Illness that is spread via Airborne Transmission.
- The best prevention is vaccination.
- Measles can result in Pneumonia, Encephalitis, and Middle Ear Infections.
- Measles is one of the leading causes of death in young people globally.
- Measles is no longer endemic in Canada, but outbreaks continue to occur.
- Please wear a mask, practice proper hand hygiene and encourage those around you to as well if you or your family are experiencing symptoms.

Our paramedics finished their participation in the World Police and Fire Games in curling and indoor rowing. Congrats to the curling team for placing 10th, and a shoutout to Gilbert for earning gold and silver medals in the indoor rowing 2000m and 500m races.

Another sunny day, another amazing Little Minnows Bike Rodeo! 🚲

📢❤️ A huge thank you Wakaw EMS for putting on another fun and informative Bike Rodeo 🦺

We were reminded of the importance of safety from our helmets to the rules of the road 🚴🏻

We practiced our skills with a personal course plus a little drive around town ⚠️

Watch out town of Wakaw, we may have a little biker gang on our hands 😉
